Reach for the sky!

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

Just thought I'd post a couple of pics of my ladies. They are Durban P and they're in week 2 of flower and are stretching about 20mm a day under a 400 HPS.

They've been tied down all through veg because of height restrictions but after a recent relocation they now have loads of room so I'm letting them go straight up through flower. They are in 13 Lt pots and are being watered every 2 days with half strength fish fert N and full strength P and K organic ferts.

I don't grow much these days... you say they are Durban Posion? they are sativas, and they have pretty long flowering cycle I guess.

They are in 2nd week flowering? In my early days of growing weed I grew Mexican Sativa indoors (fuck! I LOVE THIS STRAIN... very mellow and sleepy type of stone not "heavy" just sleepy, sweet smelling, and very smooth....but wouldnt bother growing indoors again) I used 400 watts, as i was only 16/17 that time and very ametuer grower... grew 8 plants and only yeilded 7-8 oz's which wasn't bad for a newbie at the time IMO.

But they were pretty stretchy as most sativas are, as I never grew durban poison... I am sure they will stretch bit bigger next month.... but you are using 400watts and you are only growing two plants.... i say you probably will be lucky to yeild more than 5 ounces... unless you increase your light wattage. Can the lights get any taller just in case they get bigger?

I noticed during the flowering cycle.. they get bigger.

Anyway... like FOL said... goodluck :D if it yeilds less than what you hoped for... don't worry you will have some leaves you could always make some cannabutter and make it stretch bit further if you are on tight budget :o

But you could try get a heat sheild which can bring the plants closer to the light without burning the buds to crisp.... might make a difference or not... but I will leave better experienced growers who have grew sativas better than me to answer your questions.

There were bought as Durban P. but when grown they showed diferences in pheno type and as a true Durban P. is supposed to be pure sativa I have my reservations. Yeah Urb, I'm already planning on following your instructions for some good quality Butter lol

I did have another 2 females but given the bad timing of having to move house I decided to just keep the best 2 girls this time round rather than increase the risk of humping all of them across town. Even with 2 it looked very suss walking out the front door with 2 large pots with bin bags over the tops of them :D (I used to live in a busy location).

I'd be more than happy with 6 oz pipeman, I hope your right!
