Police uncover marijuana grow-op at Gatineau daycare

Two Gatineau daycare owners were arrested Thursday after RCMP and Gatineau police uncovered a marijuana grow-op in their home, which also serves as a daycare facility.

 

Police arrested a man and a woman after a search of a single-dwelling home on Rue Raymond revealed a drug operation Thursday night.

 

Police seized 44 plants, 500 grams of marijuana and other drug paraphernalia.

 

As a result, police say children who attended the Gatineau daycare were exposed to physical dangers, as well as health risks and safety hazards.

 

Police say a man and woman will both be charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking marijuana and cultivation of marijuana.

 

Police are continuing their investigation and have alerted authorities that deal with daycare facilities in Gatineau.

 

The daycare owners will make a court appearance at a later date.
