LEAP Blog: My Anticipation Blog

Recommended Posts

This week’s LEAP Blog is about issues that I have been anticipating for the upcoming year in a very positive way both here in Canada and in the United States. 2009 will certainly be an interesting one for our countries.

Barak Obama has now taken over the presidency of the United States and the country is about to change for the better. Obama is a Democrat, which is our saving grace. So am I. Although some die-hard Republicans call us bleeding hearts, a least we have our hearts in the right place. Democrats in both Canada and the U.S. have a similar vision and a defiantly North American view of the way their country should be run.

In Canada on the other hand, the NDP, Liberal and Bloc parties and their recent coalition collapsed when New Liberal leader Michael Ignatieff changed his mind and instead of backing the coalition, put the Harper Government on probation - a wait and see kind of game.

I, along with countless North Americans, want our government to take some of our issues seriously. What about the U.S. raids that have been continuing on medical marijuana dispensaries? What about the poor quality of cannabis now being offered by both federal governments to their critically and chronically ill licensed patients across both countries? I hope President Obama listens to us about this issue.

This and another issue are dear to my heart. The second, but nonetheless very important issue is that of my dear Canadian friend Michelle Rainey and her possible extradition to the U.S for a crime that was allegedly committed in Canada: selling cannabis seeds across the border to people in America. Accused along with her is another man, Greg Williams, making them two of the notoriously known threesome in the Canadian trio the BC3. The third part of the trio is affectionately known as The Prince of Pot, Marc Emery.

Hey Radic...

Thanx so much for your kind words and support doll....

You must be psychic half way around the World! My good friend Casper Leitch from Time4Hemp http://www.time4hemp.com

called with this week and we did a three way call with Rick Simpson... it was very interesting to say the least....

Rick hadn't heard of our work with LEAP and made it VERY clear that he didn't agree with me wanting to legalize and regulate ALL drugs right off the top of the phone call... too bad. I don't think he heard me out. He was a little big egotistical for me.... Don't think I'll hook up with him again anytime soon...

I hope once he sees and respects all the work I have done in Canada his attitude may change...

Until then I just have another pissed off cannabis-ONLY activist!

Love and a squish,

Alison
