Thanks every one for your help so far,

scrog sounds good,i think im going to go with 2 under 600 w to start with.If i make the room bigger than i need for grow space(say 2mx2mx2m) so i have some room to work in there and some room to possibly expand later, does this mean i have to close it in when im only growing 2 or would reflective material on walls and floor do?

it will be eze to maintain and manage a larger space with few lights

i would not worrie too much bout covering up

to make a smaller grow space yet

but its up to you

if you feel confident nuff to dowit

than go so

cause it will be more efficient to confine the light thus more bud for you buck

the down side is more energy will be needed to keep the grow space cool

which means more bucks for your bud

theres a point of deminishing returns ofcourse

but thats is for you to deside

Are all those lights used for veg,or is the room also used for clones ?

The room is 2mx2m the table frame is 1.5mx1.5m to allow easy access to the surround and is made of 1inx.5in steel covering it with 4 in square fencing mesh. The table has adjustable legs so that when you go 12/12 u can elavate it to give the heads support. i also use 2 trailer nets at different heights again to support the heavy buds, otherwise they fall over.

The lights, all of them, are on all the time.

It takes approx 3-4 wks to fill under the table

Get started. The sooner u start, the sooner you reap. But learn in the process. There is some EXCELLENT info here , but all rooms are individual . I don't know of 2 identical rooms, air flow, lights, reflection, type and health of plant etc all have an impact and i ain't heard of no great calculator for that. My info works for me and some has taken time to develope my understanding my room (conditions), but if i can be of assistance. ASK

Hey , Ive decided to make my room 2.7m longx about 1.5-2m wide ,im going to split this up into 2 sections.Im making it this size for room to expand in the future maybe

 

1 small section 800mmx800approx with 130w spectrum light for clones etc and other bit for main grow /bloom.

 

The main area will be approx 1.5x1.8 with a 600hps and possibly a 400hps if needed.This is all i can afford for the moment.

Ill have 2 under a mesh table.1.2x1.2

 

What are your thoughts, does this sound ok?

Any suggestions to make this more efficient?

Sounds OK to me . Personally, I keep clones and plants very seperate. I have a little cupboard white inside with a small fluro and a fan to keep the heat down, the clones don't get big enough to warrant a large space. I use as much space as possible for my plant, it also keeps any pests/bacteria from the room or the clones from infecting each other.

Don't be too worried about what you can afford , I started with donations (400w MH a bucket and a pump)and built up from there . This has also meant that the improvements have been what is needed and not what others have thought might be a good idea . Don't get me wrong some of the ideas have worked a treat (ie the mesh table) but some others have hindered my progress as they don't suit my conditions.
