Lighting question

So i just got my new 400 mh

 

started it up

 

was kinda suprised though , i always thought light from metal halide bulbs were blueish white

 

mine is coming out like a light orange?

Light orange sounds like sodium but i haven't used a halide for years .

Turn it off , have a closer look at bulb or wait for an experienced to answer .

they take a while to warm up, about 20min

at first they may be yellow as the reach full power

the slowly turn light blue like the sky in winter

you know how clear the air looks and feels in winter when the sun is furthest away and at it weakest

thats why we first thought MH was best for flowering cause thats what happens in the natural state

but latter it was proved that HP rules for flowering

they are like the sun in summer heat

gold or yellow hazey like the air in summer

 

is it a brand new bulb????????

 

they do ware out after a certain number of hrs work

it should be written pon the packet or box it came in

if it is a secondhand buld it may be too old and dull to work at the recommended brightness

new bulbs are exe

but worth it

called the guy he said too bring it back monday

 

everything was supposed to be brand new

 

the ballast looks worn though ....

 

so yeah he will fix everything
