Help my plants are sick!

Recommended Posts

Hi guys,

I'm hoping someone can help me with my first indoor grow.

I have 3 cinderella 99 growing in a expanded clay recycle system they are about 4 weeks old.

Under a 600watt Hps the pump has been 30min on 1.5hrs off

They have been strugling since I put them in a couple of weeks ago.

The ppm is 620 but seems to go up slightly, the PH is going up from 5.5 to 6.3 overnight!!!

the leaves are a pale green and seem to be drying from the middle.

Last week the ppm was 900ppm and rose to 1300 and one set of leaves curled under (and dried up and died)

so I dumped the tank and set it up again with the EC at 600ppm. But it's still pale

any help will be appreciated

flush

did you flush the pots before you planted????????

that is a crucial step

na panic

dowit now

put pure water in the top of the pot fast nuff to completely cover the top of the pot but not over flow the edges

seen

keep poring till the water that runs out of the bottom of the pot is clear

then stop

now return to your grow nutrients but at half the recommended strength for the first day after the flush

then the next day back to full strength

they should be back to a rich green in a few days

to supplement

you could give them a light folia spray to help them along

i use a liquid worm mixed at 100 to 1

the leaves are actually better at collecting nutrients than the roots

the plants will respond quicker to folier feeding than normal root feeding

be careful not to get your hot lights wet from the spray

that can be a very expensive mistake

ya PPMs are definitely too low... however.. at 600ppm.. they still shouldnt look anything like this.. you PH at 5.5 is way too low.. and if its creeping upto 6.3 over night then youve got some issues with in the medium..

are you checking the PH at around the same time every day.. as PH does tend to fluctuate during the day as the plants take in various nutrients...

i would think that some thing is definitely stopping these plants from feeding.,.. which leads me to believe its more of a root problem than anything else

looking at the system.. i cant really tell properly.. are these double pots, recirc?.. and do those return lines run from the bottom of the pots?

i cant really see from the pic, but it looks to me that the return lines come from the middle of the pot?

yes i think you right SukonmiSkunk

they do look N deficient

which means too low a PPM

or

incorrect PH

flush and start again should fix dat

a folier spray will suplement dem till the flush is completed

warning

do not allow water to contact hot lights

ever

seen

i liquid worm mix at 100 to 1 would be irey

Thanks guys,

Yeah I think i'll flush everything and see what happens.

Yeah there is 4 pots with 2 return lines the two on the left share the same line and the 2 on the right share the same.

The small pots in the middle are just a basket pot that is more or less straight through large gaps , I think they are called orchid pots I think.I was going to use these to seperate and remove any males at one stage as originaly I only had 2 pots

and 4 plants.

anyways I'll flush and see what happens

thanks for you help guys you are champions!
