Types or soils?

Recommended Posts

If you are growing organic you dont want any chemicals in the soil. the best soil bunnings sell is called "organix" and is about $10 a 30L bag. i also buy a bag of perlite and some mushroom compost.

why mushroom compost? well... its a soil conditioner, it contains lime - so it will lower your pH while feeding more nutes into the soil.

when to feed? well, how big are your pots/plants? how long is a piece of string?

stick your finger into the soil and if the soil profile is dry up to your knuckle the give it a drink, if its moist and soggy, dont.

Your plants will "tell" you what they need and when they need it, u just got to know how to read them.

Hi BuggerLugs i just need a bit of advice please as im quite new to this.

Im thinking of starting from seed so i will need some decent seedling mix and using Yates Proffesional mix with some Perlite and seaweed extract/fish mix for veg/flower. Does this sound ok?

I think i want to use some organic nutes aswell just to fatten the ladies up, wat about Guano Super Grow and Bloom or the Earth Juice Range as "Switched On Gardener" is now closed and im limited to selection at other places.

And also where can i get some inoculant from, i live in NZ?, and i cant get any Canna AKTrivator(Trichoderma) is there anything else that is like this and where can i get it?

If im going wrong please tell me and give me a slap you more experienced growers.

Thank You

Himan
