'Forest of dope' found inside house

A MAN has been arrested after police uncovered a huge cannabis crop inside a house at Blair Athol in Adelaide's north.

 

Police swooped on the house at the corner of Prospect Rd and Meadows Ave shortly before 9am, unveiling a highly sophisticated hydroponic operation.

 

On first entering the unobtrusive house through the rear door, the Prospect Rd abode appears to be a normal home - until you open the bedroom cupboard.

 

Behind the cupboard doors is a small room adorned with bright halogen globes, drying what officers estimate to be about 15 kilograms of high quality cannabis head on the ground and in a number of bakers trays.

 

In another room is what appears to be an indoor forest of cannabis consisting of 10 hydroponically grown cannabis plants, which stand at about two metres high despite police estimating them being a month from maturity.

 

Senior police will hold a press conference shortly and outline how much the crop could have yielded on the street.

 

At the front of the house, which appears to be a former shop, is a gymnasium and the remainder of the property is guarded by security fences and a warning sign not to enter.

 

Electricity experts are helping dismantle the lighting systems and police expect to be at the house for at least several hours

 

Police have charged a Blair Athol man, 49, with cultivation of cannabis, possession of a commerical quantity of cannabis , illegal possession of 20 prohibited weapons and theft of electricity.

Poor bastard, I wonder if that's how they got him - only 10 plants ? I guess you'd assume he had just harvested with 15kgs of bud, whats that like $66k @ $3kpp ?

 

He must have had like 30-35 plants before he harvested

 

I wonder how many watts youd need to grow 30 big plants indoors ?
