growing in coco help please

Recommended Posts

do you hand water

or auto????

are you growing freom seed or clone in pure coco????

imo

it is best to mix coco with a well drained meduim

cause coco retains moisture extreamly well

it is very eze to over water

straingly nuff

the roots need O to keep them healthy and stop them from getting root rot

so you gotta let the water drain out nuff to let the plant roots get some O from the air

which is sucked down into the coco as the water leaves

yo!

the pots do not have to dry right out for the O to reach the roots

as soon as wilt is obivious time to harvest is delayed

idealy

the answer to your Q is

just before the plant shows signs of willt

you will need to keep a keen eye pon the plants

as you experimint wid dis

na worrie

after a while it becomes second nature

do you talk to you plants ???

i do

:D

seen

to i,

they sound like they are doing fine for 4wks growth

are you going to repot to bigger pots soon?????

well before you do

look up a good coco mix for your conditions

are we indoors

or

outdoors???

some pix will help

crucial

did you flush the coco out before you planted????????

and then

i like to flush once a week

to stop any toxic build up of unused nutrients

there is another aspect to consider with organic mediums

that is

insect infestation

scard fly in particular love coco

always keep a close watch for insects

a sticky fly paper trap will tell you if they are in there

check thoroughly and regularly

with one aim

kill dem all and come back alone

can you take any pic????????

Hi my first post so here we go.

My first gro just this year was with a coco drain to waste system

3...20 litre pots

600 hps

100% coco

dutchmaster nutes

This was such a easy trouble free system.

I would mix 100 litres a time of nutrents in a 44 galon drum adjust ph, add oxy plus every 3 days and had a aerator in the reservoir. a small pump on a dripper system would feed the plants about 4 times a day about 2 litres each a day, i hand watered plants when they were young.

Every three to four weeks i would flush pots with a hand held garden hose sprayer totally drown the pots until water was constantly runing out the bottom of the pots after a flush i would not feed them again for a couple of days just to let the coco dry out a bit.

This system was so trouble free i left it all on its own for two weeks while i whent on a holiday when i returned i discovered that the coco was totally bone dry my pump had craped its self for at least 9 days but it didnt effect the plants i simply watered the and continued on

I found it impossible to over water or under water the plants in coco and the fact you only check the ph once when ever you mix a new batch this system is a totall winner with fantastic results i got just under a pound of awesome budnnes goodness and 4 oz of fluffy stuff

for me i have limited time to spend in the lab so this was so easy recommend to any one dont worry about mix perlite or clay balls and definatley dont panic about over or under watering just remeber to flush every nown and then so so so easy
