growing in coco help please

I just switched too growing in coco core

 

Im new too this , my plant is about 4 weeks old 4-6 inchs tall

 

How do I know when the coco is dry enough too re water ?

 

 

I dont want too over water

Pick up the pot and weigh it with your hands. its the only way. Good luck

its ideal to go with a coco and perlite mix most say a 50/50 mix is good i like 70/30 better altho i have found with a 50/50 mix i cannot over water i can water my girls once a day with a heavy watering and there fine no signs of over watering but i do like the 70/30 mix as i can let me girls go up to 3 days without watering i know this still doesnt answer your question but i have only ever grown in strait coco for a few weeks ill have a rough guess and say water them once every 4 days with a little run off than as they grow increase waterings

i was thinking something around 3-4 days also

 

 

i didint know about adding perlite too the mix untill reading online pots are still very small

 

when i repot

 

I will add perlite

It was a little damp today after two days , under a 100w fluro

 

I decided too give it a water just around the outside of the plant not directly on it , seemed to work

watch out for root rot if u keep the roots to damp

I thought your supposed too keep the coco damp ?

 

and not let it dry right out ?

sorry damp to me is really wet u dont want it soggy and dripping wet for a long period Edited March 8, 2009 by Gazza2001au

ok well damp means there is a little moisture but its not dripping wet and its not 100% dry ,
