Hi guys I couldn't find a pic of an open male flower.

 

I Have never seen one before but I imagine this is it. Looks like bunches of tiny bananas.

 

Hope he/she.... it hasn't shed any pollen yet

Thanks for the post happiehippie. I've pulled them all off there wasn't many on the plant. If they get outa control i'll be chopping it.

check the plant every day with a magnifying glass

 

would you say that she is 99% female 1% male???????

how many branches have male flowers developing???????

how many different sites are the male flowers developing

now compare that to the number of developing female flower sites

crunch some numbers

what figures are you dealing wid??????

 

keep a keen eye pon dis for the next 2wks

which ever way you go

if she is more than 90%f/m

and there is not too many male flower sites

dont pull the male flowers off or

she will just keep turning up male flowerz

if she is still 90% male than you should still get an irey harvest

how ever if she is too far gone

more that 10% male

than your harvest will be considerably lower

and you will have to make some hard fast economic decisions

 

it is hard to tell right now

which way to go

 

if she is too far gone

dont try to grow from clone or seed again

trash her

but if you really need her geens

than there is a way to save them

all you need to do is to get some pollen from a 100% true Male

and pollinate some of the best budz

collect the seed from these buds

grow from these seeds and the problem will be fixed for at least 3 generations

 

100% true male has no female flowers on him at all

ever

Well I kept her going and here's an update pic. Not many bannanas but I think some of the bud (10%) is seeding. Will the seeds be any good?

 

Giving some canna PK this week.

yeah.. it looks like a pistlate hermie.. meaning it has more female than male..

 

the male parts will keep forming as the plant grows.. so youll have to check them every day... if you have other plants in the room.. or in the area, youd best be moving them.. or the hermie.. other wise you risk seeding the lot..

 

if not.. and this is your only plant.. then you can just grow it out.. if it seeds then it will still be ok to smoke.. or make hash from..

do not plant them again

the next gen will be worse

up to about 20% male flowers more in the next generation from that seed

 

but the clones from her will be the same as this current one at about 10%

eventually she will will lose that too tho, cause as the mother get tired quickly and negitive genitic trates will dominate in the clones

 

the best sollution is to trash her

or

hand pollinate her with some pure male pollen

and grow strictly from those seed

so you need to keep good records to achieve diss

 

to get the best seeds

pollinate the top bud

and wait till the seed matures

about 2 weeks after you hand pollinate will be irey

seen

as soon as she gets some pollen into her overies

from any source

its all over

she will stop producing flowers

ouch

no more bud growth

then

all her energy from that point on will be dirrected to producing seed

then she will die

unless

offcourse you regenerate her back to veg

and clone her

but like i said that wont last much longer because she is allready in a genitic poor state so she will tire eze as a mother

 

i would hand pollinate her with male pollen i collected from high qual pure males and keep stored in the freezer for these....................... special occianions
