my first hydro

hey whats up guys.... im new here this is my first post and first hydro set up... i was wondering if you guys wouldnt mind checking out my set up and the progress of my plants... i have grown in soil before but never hydro.... i decided to go hit an NFT system that i built myself from products at home depot.... i got most of my info online and any good or bad pointers would be great.... thanks

 

heres some info on room and plants:

room 5'x8'

NFT system 4'x6' with 50 grow spots

30 gallon res

1 air pump 2 stones

water flow in gullys is 1.25 liters a min

2 1000w hps with 6" vents hooked up to 2 inline fines

1 10 inch fan for exhaust and 3 4" holes with fiters over them for intake

av room temp is 76 deg F

av res temp 24 deg C

 

there are 11 trainwrecks and 33 lavanders for a total of 43 plants....

all are clones

i started them 12 days ago

ph at 5.5

started them at 180 ppm and they all went thru about five days of what looked like nute burn i really dont know.

then about the fifth day they started to look better and the next day better and here they are now....12 days...

i now have the ppm up to 240 and i im scared to really start raising the ppm.... should i increase daily? at every res change?

any info or advice would be great..... thanks

its all for my head and has become a very enjoyable hobby.... growin in soil is such a mess...

i am going to do 3 month cycles and hope its enough to last me from havest to harvest.... i smoke ALOT!

 

im still needing nutrient info if anyone has ne....

not a bad effort setting up the NFT table..

 

its a good system to use.. but if youre pump fucks out.. you dont have a lot of time to replace it..but if all goes well.. theres no reason why you shouldnt see at least an ounce per plant..

 

with the PPM's.. just raise it straight to around 1200-1400.. 1800 would be maximum.. i run mine at around 1400..

DR SATAN, nice set up make sure u use NFT matting it runs the length of the gullies and sits under the pots to distrabute the nutrients/water to the whole width and length of the gullies as for your nutrients all brands are different u can do as SS said and see how they go but i personally get a measuring cup mix my nutrients up as per instructions on the bottle to full strength than dip the TDS meter in the nutrient solution and see what its reading than devide to what ever strength u wanna use for certain growth stages

i am going to change out my res tommorow anyways so i will then jack my ppm up and see what happens.

you know its funny in all the research i did on the NFT system i never came across the NFT matting... .... sounds like a good idea and i will definatly try it on the next round as it is too late now.

 

anywho i will be creating a diary and will keep my progress posted.....

WRATS UP MAN.........heres the scheldule I'm using .

 

veg. cycle-

seedlings- 2-1-2

early veg- 4-2-3

mid. veg- 10-5-7

 

flower cycle-

cycle changeover- 7-7-7 (the step after mid. veg)

early flower- 5-10-7

mid. flower- 6-15-10

late flower- 4-10-7

sound like you have a good handle on your nutes Happie.... i use supernatural and a few other additives

the supernatural grow aqua is 17 7 18

 

then in flowering i will be using

early flower- bloom aqua 14 8 19

middle flower- bud blaster 1 52 31

late flower/ ripening - boost 10 49 10

 

in my soil grows i always just used a 20 20 20 mix for veg with some additives

and some other shit for flowering but dont have it ne more and dont remember the strength...

 

im new to hydro... supernatural was recomended to me becuase it is clean which i need for my NFT system and very low in salt build up... seems to be working for me so far cant wait to start flowering in a week or two!
