Brazilian Haze

Hey guys, here are a few pics of a Brazilian Haze I finished out in late 2007. It was a rare throw back pheno. It finished up at 95 days and gave a yield indoors, of 6 1/2 oz. I grew it organic in a 12" pot under a 1000MH.

The aroma was of fresh black liquorice and spice, with a hint of mango. It had a soaring sativa high and is the strongest smoke I have tried in 30 years. It is now available by clone only as there was no male.

Here is a pic to show the change in density of one of the 5 spears the plant produced.

The first image is taken at day 70 I think, and the second is 3 weeks after, at day 95. You can see why I refer to this cola as "Jumbo", as it sure looks like the head of an elephant.

Awesome. So you grew it indoors, under a light?

Yes mate, in an used bedroom under a 1000W Metal Halide HID lamp, in a 12" pot, organically. I have always grown organic and am not a huge fan of hydro. Buds are better when organically grown IMO. Edited February 27, 2009 by smokin.moose

Did it have many shade leaves when growing or did ya keep it trimmed?

Surprisingly it had few shade leaves. The plant looked like any other sativa until 2 weeks into flower, then it threw 5 spears and just kept on filling out. I had fully expected it to be ready at 70 days, but it kept on going to 95 days. Even then, it was still tip flowering.

The connection is actually to White Widow. I think the throw back pheno is to the Brazilian in the original breeding of the Widow.

Outdoor it produces up to 6 pounds of dried buds. It is a very unusual plant in that it does not get too tall. It's just that the bud formation is massive.

What I liked about it the most was the aroma of fresh black liquorice.
