What has weed done for you?

Recommended Posts

some moving replies here certainly. i fall into the 'over-thinker' catagory, weed slows me down and allows my subconcious to work out anything causing me stress. I have smoked for years but only upped the anti over the last 8 months. in that time, i have stopped feeling like i needed to go clubbing every weekend 'just cause', saved thousands, got out of $5k worth of debt, plus a new $8k car, and i have never felt more contempt with myself.

also love to pull a few cones and do any mind numbing tasks such as cleaning, or even working as i can get into the zone much easier. i rarely work under the influence (web development), tho every time i have, my work has been above my normal quality.

i rarely work under the influence (web development), tho every time i have, my work has been above my normal quality.

I'll second that, in further detail in a tic, back to the question tho:

Roughly in priority green helps me:

- Reduce stress / relax

- Think clearly, with no bias, neutrally, make better decisions you could sum that up as.

- Improve my work (creative based). I think anything in excessive use is no good, so I'll only do green (if I fkn had any now) on weekends or special occasions. You should be able to get through life without a dependence on drugs, only use them when you need them on a non-majority basis.

- Reduce my alcoholic drinking (but due to having no supply right now I'm back on alcohol to help relive stress & relax). My father is an alcoholic, I don't ever want to become that. What's all that talk about foetal alcohol syndrome going on now :S

I'm sure there's more, but they're the most positive & immediate answers which come to mind.

It has helped me get through and over watching my darling wife go through the pain and mental torment of slowly being eaten away by cancer.

It has helped me with the what if's. It has invoked the fond memories of our time together, good and bad. Now it is helping me move on and start again.

Not just the smoking but in the garden.

I used to be manic depressive. Since I started smoking cannabis ten years ago, I have never been/felt better. I also use it for chronic pain due to osteoarthritis. I also know that I m more creative. I love being 'in the zone'.

We're one in the same, Mistyville. I'm bipolar, and I started smoking the herb fairly recently (2 years ago, or so), and I've never felt better. It helped me through a lot of hard times, helped me remain calm during exams (which, I might add, I did quite well in! :yinyang: ), and, as a musician, it's helped me write a lot of songs.

It's a wonderful thing, marijuana.

man propaganda is alwas so rediculous. i have a collection of propaganda tv episodes from the 90s...you should have seen what they showed us in the states, it's hilarious. especially stuff like Straight Up or Cartoon All Stars to the Rescue.

freakin redonkulous.

before i started smoking was no different from after. it's only been a few months, and all i can say is that now when i get really mad about something i try to remember the feeling of being high. it relaxes me and lets me calm down and look at my situation with a renewed mind.

or, alternatively, my total downer of a housemate? his constant self depriciating negative BS doesn't bother me.

i have improved concentration on art, with no slip in quality (actually some people have noted improvement).

i finally got over my fear of fire (i dunno, it scared me) and now can actually work a lighter. that's a freaking life skill, honestly.

seriously, the only negative thing so far? i wasted a bunch of water when i was showering while high, cause i got caught up thinking about something and lost track of time.

oh, and i forgot to add...i've all but stopped drinking.

considering my family's got a pretty bad history of alcoholism on one side, and i went through a real bad stretch of it myself when i first started uni, this is pretty impressive.

it's just like...all the benefits, with none of the drawbacks. and it leaves you more physically functional. i used to run straight into things drunk (a doorjamb in one scenario. woke up with a huge fucking bruise on my forehead) but stoned, i've only once bumped into something. and that was a display rack, which was behind me, which was because i was considerately backing out of the way so a shopping cart could get through the grocery aisle.

I'm not sure what its done for me...

But, I can say that anyone who has problems in Australia should move to the West Coast of Canada.

It is good here - it is amazing here. Makes me feel funny just thinking about it.

cool, how many spare rooms ya got Zak ? :(

:freak:

who would have thought growing a God-given plant from nature could give a person a lifetime crimminal record ... well it does happen here ;)

it's worse in some states in the US.

one of my friends was in a car when it got pulled over by a cop for speeding. the person in the passenger's seat had a bit of bud stuck to his shirt from earlier...didn't even notice it there. but the cop did. busted the entire car, even though nobody was actually *in posession* at the time, and only that one guy had been smoking that day.

my friend spend a night in jail and a year probation, and has it on his record as posession. even though he wasn't even the one with it on his shirt.

but then on the other hand, you have california, where on job applications it asks if you've got a criminal record but then openly states "oh, if it was for weed? don't bother writing it down."
