Does QLD Drug charge with no conviction recorded show up in police che

Hey all BJ Here again.

 

As i posted some time ago with my dramas of getting busted growing and getting off with the great result of No Conviction Recorded, i now have another dilemma.

 

 

Basically i am going for a computer job. I have a long history of working in computers and am currently shortlisted for a new job.

 

The question on the forms asks me to disclose anything charges i have been found guilty of or had a conviction for in the past.

 

I called QLD police and they said that my recent charges from last year of No Conviction Recorded for growing / posession etc will not show up as no conviction was recorded. However i have read conflicting information online and it says in Victoria police check that all findings of guilt regardless of conviction or not will appear. Is this different in QLD? And is Vic just more harsh?

 

I will be applying for a National police check i guess so i can show my employer my record. I will be declaring an assault charge from 6 years ago and possession of a joint which i did get convictions for and am happy to explain that to my new boss, but am dreadfully worries about the recent growing charge evern though no conviction recorded.

 

Does anyone know for sure that my NCR for growing will not show up on the National police check as the offence was in QLD? I mean if i lie and the employer finds out then i can get the sack, i understand that. But the cops told me today that NCR in QLD means it will not show up then i would rather not disclose that to the new boss as will impact my job chances for sure.

 

I don't even see the point of getting NCR if you have to disclose it anyway, seems stupid and disadvantage to the person even though they have done their time etc to still be judged after the fact even though NCR.

 

If anyone can shed some light on this i would be extremely grateful as never had to do a crim check for any other jobs i have had and need some advice please.

My best mate works in the same industry in Brissie. He never gets asked about these things except if he's taking a contract with police or justice or similar depts.

 

Do you contract mate? You should look into it. Heaps more $ and you need provide much less paper-work!

Cheers for some info. YEah well i told them about my assault and drug charge from years ago and they were cool and i got the job

 

I did not mention the grow charges though i was too embarrassed as was not that long ago.
