1000w hps ballast parts

i need a part list for a 1000w hps ballast.called local electrical supply an were no help.i need part name and #s for each part(like opening a ballest and reading off part #s).i know i can go to sites on web but would rather try local and see if i cant get it done sooner and cheaper!NEED IT LIKE YESTERDAY READY TO FLOWER!!!P.S WHAT DO I USE FOR BOX.

I'm with Gaz on this one.

 

If it is a box you already have and needs some reapairs take it to your hydro shop.

I hear ya.This is the deal.i just bought a "lightly used" sunsystem on ebay.it came damaged so im returning it,i opened the ballast to see whats in it,its only 3 components with some wire ties.the components looked like they were from 1960,to the point were i cant read the #s off them,the white wires were brown like an old newspaper.i know buying used you never know but i cant afford new,at least i know the parts are new and safe making my own.Im a contractor and have done worse.this looks like a 9th grade science project. i still wouldnt mess with it the ignitor or capacitor could explode causing a fire if u install the wrong one

I'm all for DIY, but I think when it comes to this, one should just buy an already (commercially) manufactured unit...

Father nature I have always been of the opinion with a ballast if it's buggered don't even bother looking at it.

 

Buy a new one!I think you will honestly be lucky to get parts in time (if at all) with out compromising your grow.

 

I hope you can find some cash soon or a loaner ballast from somewhere?

 

as much as I absolutely detest putting my foot in any cash converters/pawn shops most of them have a ballast or 2 lying around maybe even a 1000watter you can loan or buy from them while you get it sorted.

 

If you live in the metro area of your states capital you should have a few not too far away

Thanks for all the input.here's an update.THe seller of light on ebay told me to keep everything because its damaged.ups insurance would refund my money in full.now i have a sunsystem hood,bulb,and ballast for free.the ballast is old and shot.i called advance ballast tech support and it turns out its from 1999.he told me not to use it but a replacement kit is easy to install.now i will have a complete setup with brand new ballast components under warranty for $120.(price of kit)original price on ebay used was $250.i didn't plan for it to go this way-but i aint complainin!!!
