well ive just come from the drobe and i must say i am quite pleased. i opened the root chamber and found that the root bed is looking very healthy indeed, took a big whiff and its sweet as a nut. as u can see the roots on the female (drain end) and the male look quite good i think. what do you think chato? that darker patch that you can see on the right of the males roots is from the dripper directly above that spot, and i think its ph burn and not root rot from when i had those ph blues recently. i have since stopped using the drippers. i used them for too long anyway. another lesson learnt. also now that the drippers are disconnected i have easy access to the root chamber for the rest of the grow. also it was great to see that the drains actually do a great job , and i dont think i will have any blockage probs. at least in this grow. you can see in one of the pics on the wall of the chamber there is a little piece of green leaf that i didnt see, i hope that tiny bit of a leaf doesnt do any harm. there is no way it will make it to the drain. they say even a particle of rotting vegetable matter among the roots can fuck you up? paranoid? probably. the last pic of those rogue drain roots and you can see there darker colour up top. but since inside is healthy and they are not blocking the drains i wont cut em off. i dont think its root rot anyway, just ph burn. i was gonna pull em back in the chamber and sit em on all the other roots, but i decided its better to be safe than sorry and i will leave em be unless they begin to cause problems.

gazza the clones are looking great bro. your cloning tek worked a treat and i havent lost one. seven out of seven. and all from the big bitch. they are 15 days old so i guess i can claim success. not bad for my first ever dabble in cloning. no dramas at all so far. 2 of them had a leaf each that died and was snipped off. i have used growth tech ccs clone solution for nourishment. i only mist em once every few days or so, i also mist inside the dome lid. i have not had to water the roockwool once. its still perfect, except the small r/wool cube. it stays too wet and i dont want to squeeze it as i dont wish to damage the roots. the clone is showing no ill effects though. maybe i can suck out the moisture with a large syringe. i usually remove the lid off the clone box for about 5-10 mins a day so they get an air exchange. vents on one box are fully closed all the time. and the other i leave a 5mm gap in one vent,no difference as i can tell. they are rooting( i hope) there nicely under a pissy lil' 11 watt cfl. actually they do nothin' at all. no sign of roots or yellowing leaves to indicate root growth. extremely slow progress, but thats cool, thats what i want. it gives me more time to bloom the current grow before i attempt an aero-scrog with those clones. the way this big bitch branches out everywhere would be perfect for scrog i reckon.

Hate to be the bearer of bad news but those roots aint that crash hot in terms of colour, they are oversaturated. It's not the end of the world by any means an they still look good but definitely saturated an it;s not ph burn it;s even more oversaturation where the drippers were. Sorry I should have picked up on the drippers earlier, not required for aero same as dwc, totally counter productive. You need to get a finer mist to the plants an/or reduce watering times. Bigger water pump might help but a minute one minute off timer would prolly be better option.

 

I just saw an aero thread from g-love that i had totally missed cuz i was offline for a few months. Check out the roots in his thread they are the best aero roots i think i;ve seen. He also explains the principles pretty well too.

sorry gazza. heres the clone pics. and i have just inspected them and it seems the longest cutting i took is starting to yellow from the inside of the top leafs. the one in the middle of the 2nd tray. does this mean its rooting?

the clones look good mate just keep doing what your doing wait another 5-7 days and see if the bigger lower leafs change colour u can start feeding them with 1/4-1/5th strength veg nutes if your rockwool is to wet sit the rockwool cubes on top of some toilet paper it'll draw out the water but be carefull it'll suck all of it out given the chance

Notice i don;t step on gaz's toes when it comes to clones or certain pieces of advice? For a midget loving, duct tape, ghetto growing mofo he know;s his shit. Esp clones, fans, exhausts an nutes. Fuck ups teach more than success an in that regard gaz shines like jesus on a cloudy day

 

Aero i can only tell ya what i know and have done as well as direct you to other peeps like musha an g-love to help ya out. I;ve moved away from aero, done 2 gigs in china and one on a break bk to oz but really haven;t played with it properly for few yrs. I cut me teeth on it indoors though and then switched to dwc for last few yrs but in many ways it has similar principles Major thing is follow the basics an veg for fuck all time unless you on top of your game, cant grow full on trees in aero it aint possible unless you got 1m+ deep tub.

 

Musha's grow was great first starter diary to direct ya to but after viewing g-loves shit he's the guy on the button. I know how to do the shit but i can;t explain it as good as them mofo's

 

Bit wasted so hope that all made sense.
