grouse, thanks for that chron. :D gonna research scrog, glad its not too late to do it. gotta find out what the most suitable screen to use. gotta fair idea. :D not gonna bother with foliar feed. gazza mate i will put those pics you mentioned up in the next few days for sure. was gonna do it this arvo when i did the nutes and put in the bigger shade, but it was 44 degrees here today, and by the time i did all that plus tied that bitch down proper i was startin' to freak out a bit thinkin' my root mass might dry out in this dog weather. its also a bit of a headfuck gettin' the root chamber lid off. and i wont pull the net pots out for fear of damaging roots. so i snatched it for the day and hooked up the pump. when i flip in a few days ill post those pics mate, will be flushing the veg nutes and inspecting the root chamber. will def get :D the system was made for me by this old guy, he's pretty handy with this sorta shit. i told him what i wanted built and he delivered. its quite basic and performs well but is a bit of a hassle to access as i said, it can be improved on and could be almost flawless. also nute changes are the fuckin' lowest. :D but im happy with it all the same. its funny you should mention roots mate, coz thats my current drama. :D they have grown down the drain into the res, at first i didnt really worry, but now there slowly driftin toward the pump (gonna use stocking), and a couple are not as healthy white as they were, a tiny bit tan colour (see pic). first signs of rr? i wanted to trim em off but was told to just leave em alone. i gave em a sniff but couldnt detect the pungent stench of creek water. :D i use oxyplus reg. will try and drag em in when i get in that chamber to flush and take pics and shit, will also put some mesh over those drains to nip this prob in the bud for good. the roots were always healthy and white before. hope its only those exposed roots that look a bit wots doin'. post-25744-1234006103_thumb.jpg

thanks gazza. i will get the hang of it. . the flip is imminent! cant wait to see this "stretch". :bongon: just preparing to take clones, think ive got everything. just readin' up on it so i dont fuck it up. will 4-5 48w nelson cfl's from bunnings be sufficient for the clones? and do i need any type of ventilation for em as they root? thanks heaps.....soda

u will only need 1 of those CFL's and u will also need some type of fly screen or mesh as i have tryed cloning under those same lights and there to strong altho they would be ideal to veg the clones for a few weeks u should really goto bunnings and get a 7-10watt CFL or pretty much the smallest u can get clones only need a really dull light to root anything more and they wilt

about cloning read read read but dont get lost in all the techniques go for the most basic heres my method

prepair rock wool cubes by pre soaking for 24 hours in PH adjusted water than hold the cube in your hand and give it a flick untill the excess water flicks off

punch a hole in the cube a little bigger than the cutting u will be taking

fill a 10L bucket with water (its easier with this size bucket to move your hands around inside of it with the cutting)

now take a really nice branch around 15cm long snip it anyway u like (the bigger and healthier the cutting u take the quicker it will root)

now hold the cut end of the cutting under the water in the 10L bucket and make a 45 degree cut (cutting under the water stops a air bubble rushing into the stem causing a blockage and killing the clone)

now dip the cuttings cut end into some cloning soloution i only like the liquid i have not had success with powder

place the cutting into the rockwool cube gently dont force it than slightly push the rockwool around the stem to support the cutting

now chop any bigger lower leaf's and branches off u only want the main tip and maybe a set of slightly bigger leaf's the bigger leafs should be cut in half

place the cutting into the clone dome tray close all vents on the dome lid and give it a mist give the cuttings a mist place lid on than place under light

i spray once a day for roughly the first 3-4 days than spray every second day but theres no harm in spraying/misting the clones and tent lid every day untill u see roots it might just take longer to root

how do u know your clones have rooted? see these pictures this was day 13 they had roots just showing using this method i have had clones root in as fast as 6 days no shit didnt even need hardening off but ive also had to wait up to 21 days aswell in the picture with all the rooted clones looking happy as larry u can see the larger leaf's going yellow at the tip this is an indication they have rooted and keep in mind this method works for me not everyone is the same and i have bairly dipped my toes in cloning

gazza mate ur a gun. :bongon: i couldnt have asked for a better tutorial on cloning mate, thats awesome. those clones in ur pic look super healthy. i think i know all i need to know to start cloning, gonna follow ur method to the letter. i wanted to do it tonight so i could flip to 12/12 asap, but i need that 10w cfl, i have got everything else ready to start cloning(gel, cubes, etc), get cfl 2moro. do i need ventilation of any sort for clones? dont have a set up space as such. i will go and soak these cubes. thanks again mate.
