I hate pro-medical/anti-'recreational' marijuana people

Does anyone else know what I'm talking about? You try to talk to someone about medical marijuana & it's benefits, such as that it can cure practically all diseases when ingested such as shown in Run From the Cure by Rick Simpson, & they still try to say that just maybe the fact that it's the most medicinal plant known to man makes it alright but it's still bad if used 'to get high'. I even saw Montel Williams in an interview with Bill O'Reilly say that he supports 'non-medical' users being arrested & imprisoned. Fuck these selfish assholes & idiots. In reality there's no such thing as 'medicinal' & 'recreational' use of cannabis, it's the same fucking substance. The thc, the part that gets you the evil 'high' is the medicine, & everyone benefits medicinally from using cannabis whether they have an ailment or not. People with serious ailments just need it more desperately but if one who doesn't have an ailment uses cannabis regularly it will prevent them from ever developing one to begin with to the same degree that it will cure any existing ailments in a patient, with no negative effects in both situations. Thus everyone should qualify for medical marijuana if they want to use it for preventative maintenence & overall health improvement, what is the logic in waiting until you're sick to use it? I'm sure most people here know this but I'm just venting, & also maybe it needs to be said. Because I used to think that the medical marijuana effort would help the 'recreational' marijuana movement as well but now I'm not even sure. We may be inadvertantly setting a precedent that use of cannabis is only acceptable if someone is terminally sick. Edited January 26, 2009 by Hiero

legalisation has to start somewhere if medical users are first to get the ball rolling im sure you will have a different view in the future......and because medical use is at the forefront of some peoples minds......does not imply that they are ANTI recreational ....

I think getting medical cannabis in to the main stream is a really good tool for normalizing it with those anti-cannabis radicals. So I wouldn't get worked up about people that are pro-medical, but anti-recreational cause at the end of the day there going to be good for the cannabis perception issue, even if they don't know it or dont want to.
