Again with the bull.

Recommended Posts

I think they base their claims on the basis that every plant gets a pound of bud.

I looked at a few forums and most people say it's more like an ounce. I honestly don't know though. But I'm guessing it's not a pound unless it's outdoor grow.

If you really only get an ounce it's....

20 * 28 = 560(even though ounces are 32)

560 * 1 549 = 867 440

They also say you can harvest 4 times a year if they wanna push the figures up.

So that could explain the ounce scenario being "over 3 million"

The pound one is like 3400000 or somethin.

'Cannabis house' man charged

Steve Spinks

February 14th, 2009

A MAN allegedly involved with a cannabis crop which has been linked to the death of Jethro Matheson fronted Byron Bay Local Court yesterday after turning himself in to police.

Barry Grant, of Condong, presented himself to Byron Bay police on Thursday and was interviewed by detectives about 1500 cannabis plants discovered at the Eviron Road property, Condong, on January 15.

The crop has been linked to 30-year-old Jethro Matheson whose body was found dumped in bushland in the Border Ranges National Park near Kyogle on January 30.

Mr Grant, 51, has been charged with cultivating and supplying a prohibited plant, and supplying and possessing prohibited drugs.

Bail was not applied for and his case was adjourned to Lismore Court on April 7.

Initially police held fears for Mr Grant's safety after he and Mr Matheson were last seen alive at the Condong premises on the same day that gunshots and a disturbance were reported there.

The next day police found a 1500-plant hydroponic cannabis crop worth more than $3 million and $65,000 worth of cannabis leaf at the property.

Inspector Greg Carey said at the time that Mr Grant's disappearance was out of character.

"He can't be located and his family have indicated to us that it is unusual and not a common thing for him to disappear," he told The Bulletin.

Police did not disclose where Mr Grant has been since the January police raid.

Strike Force Danbury was formed to investigate the drugs and disappearance of the men and includes detectives from the Tweed-Byron Local Area Command and the State Crime Command's Homicide Squad.

Anyone with information about Mr Matheson's death is asked to contact Tweed Heads Police Station via Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

Tattoo a sad reminder of 'soul mate'

Kristy Martin | 9th February 2009

Print larger | smaller CAITLIN Powell's love for Jethro Matheson was so intense, she went and got his initial tattooed on her ankle.

But Ms Powell's time with her "soul mate and best friend" has been cut short, and the tattoo is now a poignant reminder of the bond they shared.

Police found Mr Matheson's body in the Border Ranges National Park, north of Kyogle, on January 30, after he had been missing for two weeks.

Officers from Tweed/Byron Police and the State Crime Command's Homicide Squad are now searching for his killer.

The Brisbane man was last seen at a Condong property on January 15.

The next day, police raided the property and seized more than $3 million worth of cannabis.

Ms Powell yesterday admitted Mr Matheson didn't have the best track record, but said she was still proud to have been a part of his life.

She said he had recently been trying to leave the drug scene behind.

"Yes, he made mistakes," Ms Powell said yesterday.

"But these last few months he was changing so much, he wanted to settle down, have a family and remove himself from the drug scene."

She said Mr Matheson's lifestyle was a product of the environment he grew up in, back in Yeppoon in Queensland.

"He did what he did to survive, to him it was all he knew," she said. "It was the environment ... which made him the person he is.

"He did not deserve (to die like) this."

Ms Powell, who lives in Brisbane, would not comment on her partner's involvement with Mr Grant or his connection to the Murwillumbah area.

Instead, she spoke of a man who was there for her when her life had hit a devastating low point.

"He was my partner and I loved him. He was my soul mate, my best friend," she said.

"When I met him I was a mess - lost, confused and just wanted to die. He picked me up.

"If it weren't for him I would be the one in his position."

Ms Powell's Facebook website describes her thoughts at the time Jethro went missing until the day police identified his body.

There is uncertainty and fear, followed by heartache.

In what can now be seen as a chilling omen, he once told her in a poem that they would be together "til death setz us free."

The circumstances surrounding the 30-year-old's death remain unclear.

There is speculation he was shot because gunshots were heard in the Condong area on January 15, but the official cause is yet to be determined.

Police are also still searching for another man, Barry Grant, 52, who disappeared from the Eviron Road property the same day as Mr Matheson.

Mr Grant, who lives at the property, hasn't made contact with friends and family members, which is considered out of character for him.

A white Toyota Landcruiser registered to him was found burnt out in Condong and police have since seized the vehicle for forensic examination.

Anyone with information on the men is asked to contact Tweed Heads police station on (07) 5536 0999 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

Man charged over drug murder

February 25th, 2009

A TWEED district man has been charged over the shooting murder of another man whose decomposing body was found in a northern NSW national park and who is linked to a $3 million cannabis plantation.

The body of 30-year-old Jethro Matheson was found in bushland in the Border Ranges National Park north of Lismore on January 30, two weeks after he went missing.

Mr Matheson was last seen with 51-year-old Barry Grant on a property at Environ Road in Condong, near Murwillumbah, on January 15.

A number of residents told police they heard gunshots in the area that day.

The next day, police raided the Environ Rd property, allegedly finding 1500 hydroponic cannabis plants with an estimated street value of $3 million.

On February 12, Grant was charged with cultivating a large commercial quantity of a prohibited plant, supplying a prohibited plant, supplying a prohibited drug and two counts of possessing prohibited drug.

On Tuesday, Grant was arrested at Grafton police station and charged with murder following further investigations by Strike Force Danbury, set up to investigate Mr Matheson's disappearance.

He appeared in Grafton Local Court later that day, where he was refused bail to appear at Tweed Heads Local Court on April 7.

Investigations into the Mr Matheson's death are ongoing, a police spokeswoman said.

They said that the 4000 plant bust in SA was worth 60 million. I worked out that if it was trafficked interstate and sold gram by gram, it would've amounted to 40 million at the most. They love to talk themselves up, especially because all the lawfreaks don't know the price of pot anyway, so to them it seems like they have done a better job than they actually have.

One more thing. That caitlin chick. If you are that blokes fiance you are pretty damn stupid. You just told everybody that you saw the plants there. If you don't report that to the cops, you are an accessory. So you have basically just admitted to knowingly being involved as an accessory in a commercial drug operation. Nice work :devilred:!!! oh and don't for one second think that cops don't read these forums Edited by zip01
