Police make $3m north coast drug bust

Posted 8 hours 51 minutes ago

More than $3 million worth of drugs has been seized from a property on the New South Wales north coast.

Police from the Tweed-Byron command raided the property on Eviron Road, Condong, last Friday, and are looking for two men who are connected with the property.

They say they found more than 1,500 cannabis plants in an elaborate, hydroponic set up, with a street value of more than $3 million.

There was also cannabis leaf worth more than $65,000.

Police are looking for two men who have not been seen by family or friends since visiting the property the day before the raid.

Strike Force Danbury has been set up to investigate the discovery of the drugs and the disappearance of the men.

Less to do with stupid public, more like ignorant masses I think, and a steady stream of government propaganda to dilute any truths that get out there keeps it that way...

Time to spread the word again http://www.cannaworld.com/center/images/smiles/legalizeit.gif

and make them informed masses...http://www.cannaworld.com/center/images/smiles/biggrininvasion.gif

*** EDITOR’S NOTE: Photos of the two missing men are available via email by contacting the NSW Police Force Media Unit on (02) 8263 6100. ***

Police are appealing to the public for help to locate two men who were last seen on the state’s Far North Coast last week.

Acting on information received, officers from the Tweed/Byron Local Area Command raided a property on Eviron Road, Condong, last Friday (16 January).

Inside the residence, as well as in two sheds, police will allege they located 1,549 cannabis plants in an elaborate, hydroponic set up. The plants have an estimated potential street value of more than $3 million.

Police will also allege they located more than $65,000 worth of cannabis leaf during the execution of the search warrant.

As a result of further inquiries, police have been made aware of a possible disturbance when two men attended the property the previous day (Thursday 15 January).

Investigators are now appealing for help to locate two men who have not been seen or heard from since attending the property.

Jethro Matheson, aged 30, is described to police as being of white/European appearance, 178cm tall, with a medium build and long brown hair.

Barry Grant, aged 52, is described to police as being of white/European appearance, with a short stocky build.

Family and friends of the two men have told police it is unusual for them not to be in contact.

Strike Force Danbury was established last week to investigate the discovery of the cannabis plants, as well as the disappearance of Mr Matheson and Mr Grant.

The strike force comprises detectives from the Tweed/Byron Local Area Command with the assistance of the State Crime Command’s Homicide Squad.

Members of the public who might have seen either of the two men, or been in contact with them, are urged to contact Tweed Heads Police Station on (07) 5536-0999 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

What a lovely and charming way to introduce yourself to our community Caitlin. I can't say that it will will you any respect though.

I do however respect your right to put your point of view across, as do I respect the belief others have had regarding just how much was found in the aforementioned raid.

I just don't think you have don't it in a very appropriate manner.

I am not surprised at everyone response thought, especially considering the amount of hype and BS fed to the public through the various media outlets.

This might just be a case of honesty in the media, but when someone responds the way you have my dear, it makes it very hard to believe, from my side of the fence at least.
