getting seeds- silly idea ?

so i guess this may sound quite silly, but id like some feedback on exactly HOW silly

a friend and i want to get seeds, we are both in situations where we dont want to have it sent to

our addresses and the idea of throwing a 'false' letterbox up on a nearby street has come up,

seems likely a good idea, but does this sound preposterous to anyone here ?

 

are we breaking some full on laws that anyone knows of ?

is it worse to put up a fake letterbox, than to receive seeds in the first place ?

has anyone tried this before ? we are thinking a unit complex or something similar

 

want to avoid, po-boxes, having it mailed directly to us

and dont know anyone else who we could have them sent to

 

again, i appreciate that i probably sound like quite an idiotic ametuer (i am!)

but it would be great to hear your thoughts !

Hi, and welcome to OS/Cannanation.

 

In response to your query... i'd say if you are absolutely adament you don't want the seeds coming to your home address, you would need to either, set up a redirection to another address, or PO Box. I suppose you can get them sent to say a neighbour or something... but here are the issues with that..

 

1. How do you know the owner of the mailbox isn't going to find them before you do?

2. There are legal implications if you are caught tampering with someone's mailbox

3. If you are caught in either of the above scenarios, and they decide to involve then who knows what could happen.

 

You're best off creating an alias for yourself at an address you are familiar with, or setting up a PO box. The seedbanks generally package them in a way that is discreet and not obvious as to what's in there.

If u are renting the place u are in and have got mail from the last ppl that lived there put in that name and once the mail arrives leave it sitting on top of fridge for a few weeks and if leo comes around u say i havent had time to take back to post office to tell them that that person no longer lives there...

I've always loved that idea ozzy ..but never really understood the idea of keeping them there to hand over if the pigs turn up

 

Wouldn't it be just as easy to stash them at another address as soon as they arrive and then if the cops do knock at your door just hand over the previous tenants junk mail, rather than your over-priced seeds

 

Another good idea is having them posted to a vacant rental, if you can regularly check the mailbox without being noticed.

..or just have them posted to your address ..in your own name ..paid for by credit card ..works for some of us apparently

get a mate or family member to open a PO box and give u the key than when buying the seeds put in your first and middle name (as last name) if everything goes smooth chuck your mate $50 or some bud after u harvest if u do get done for importing the seeds by the time the person that owns the PO box is questioned and released u will have all the growing equipment out of your house than u just take the rap for it its a risk i was willing to take as i dont have a safe addy PO box worked a dream oh yeah with your first and middle name if u do get done they cant get u for opening someone elses mail its alot of trouble to go to but theres not much u can do without a safe addy
