Another Beginner Annoying You All...

Hi all!

 

Long time smoker, fist time poster!

 

I'm sure these questions have been answered before, but any help would be greatly appreciated!!

I'm interested in growing 2 or 3 plants in my house. I'm not really looking for any kind of hydro set up, just a couple of plants in some pots, in the sun-room of my new place.

 

In saying that though, I also believe that if you're going to do something, do it properly, so if there was a super-cheap and easy option of doing a hydro set-up that someone could recommend, I would be appreciative. Plus, (and I'm sure this is showing my ignorance), would this set up create a spike in my electricity account? I've probably been watching too much T.V..

 

The first thing I obviously need are some seeds. I've never really been able to decipher what strands etc. that I've smoked in the past, but obviously know the difference between some good and bad weed. I was wondering whether there was an online provider that has been tried and trusted, so I can order a bunch of seeds safely and discreetly, that are of great quality. Once again, I'm not too interested in the strain etc., but just interested in getting some good weed, from a cheap and easy set up.

Can anyone recommend a site? Or perhaps put me in touch with someone? (I'm in Sydney) Also, what are the laws in regards to getting seeds sent through the post?

 

I know that's a lot to take in, but any info that you guys could give would be greatly appreciated.

The seedbank database is your best bet of finding a source for your seeds. Sadly due to the illegality of you lovely herb, there are no Aussie seed banks afaik.

 

You are going to have to order from over seas unless you end up with something seedy from the street.

I've checked out the sites that were recommended and they all have a lot of very useful information. Though, the seed bank reviews do not say where the reviewer was located. I wonder whether there was any Australian buyers that have had success receiving seeds in the past. And if so, where abouts the got them..

my first online seed order was with planetskunk, got the seeds

in under 2weeks(live in perth).

 

As for a cheap set-up, do some reading and look through a few grow journals to get an idea of whats

best for you.

You asked if having your grow was going to affect your electricity bill. and my response to that would be yes at least a little bit, if you are going to be growing indoors, especially with lights and fans etc if you plan on setting it up that way.

 

I would recommend looking through some of the grow reports around the site, even some of the older ones will have some good information and experiences for you to peruse over. they can also give you a hand in deciding what type of strains you think you'd like.

 

I don't have much experience with the seedbanks, however you can't go wrong with The Cannibis Seed Bank Guide imo.

Just wondering what your budget is? I went way over budget on my first grow (the second is getting there too), but the amount of weed I harvested was worth a lot more than what I spent on the grow.

 

So if you invest the right amount of time and money you should get a good return.

to achieve quality harvests cannabis requires strong light

id imagine that a sun room wouldnt provide that.ie filtered light etc

direct light is the best bet, is there a spot in the yard that gets sun continuously?

also this time of year if u are in oz is flowering time anyways if i remember correct

indoors id set up a dedicated area with hid lighting and adequate fans and extraction

tyhis will boost ya bill anywhere between 80 -300$ a quarter depending on wat u set up

maybe if u want to go indoors decide on an area u can dedicate to growing

after that we can help with the rest..just a thought

My budget is probably going to be anywhere up to maybe $400. In regards to profit margins, as I said before, the majority would be just for personal use, though making a few dollars to pay off the set up would also be of great help. I spose this is such a broad question, but how much bud would one expect from one plant? Either in grams, or $$. I'm sure it's quite a bit of luck..

 

So I'm thinking that it's going to be an indoor setup, as upon closer inspection, the sun room, contrary to it's name, doesn't actually get that much sun. I'm thinking just one light, and a handful of plants..
