Bud rot help, what to do with infected buds? Bubble?

I unfortunately found myself with 2oz of wet top cola’s with internal bud rot right in the middle, coating the outsides of each small bud on the cola from the inside outward. The mold itself is brown in color and is kind of powdery starting from the stem in the middle. Is there any way to use this bud for bubble hash or something? As it seems such a waste of bud. Would this be good for bubble hash or would the mold make it through the screens into the final product? :peace:

So do you think the mold would make it through the screens into the final product? Every day I look at the moldy buds they are getting worse very fast, it almost brings a tear to my eyes. Maybe I put this thread in the wrong place; I should have tried the hashish forum .Thanks for all the advice guys

i was always told to remove the mold affected buds straight away and even an inch or two below the moldy bit.

it is sad and f@#ked up but it saves the plant.

dont take my word for it however, there are some real knowledgable type growers in here...for instance a legend of pot put me onto a product called eco-carb(which i am trying to track down)which is antifungal and apparently kelp can do some good to mold affected plants.

use clean choppers, if you can bring yourself to do the heavy prune.

i got my moldy biz in the freezer now...i'll tell ya if it works out for me.

cheers phin :peace:

hey peeps...

the mould/fungus you're referring to is called Botrytis...a common prob faced by not only indoor growers, but the viticulture industry as well-though they found a way to capitalise upon the problem :peace: ..anyways..

OK...as fungal/mould spores are present in the air within your grow-room at all times, waiting for an opportune environment in which to establish themselves...they both need two things to establish themselves in your system..firstly, a lack of or insufficient volume of air-flow within your grow-canopy will allow spores to settle. Insufficient or inadequate airflow results in increased ambient temperatures and relative humidity levels within your grow area-this is the perfect environment for the germination and establishment of Botrytis within your crop.

Prevention is the simple cure to everything indoors-you cant have enough air intake or exhaust..too much can be reduced by controllers.. too little cant...

Hi jane

IMO

There is a problem in your grow room

crucial

check for insect attack

maintain low grow room temps and humidity

all mould attacks have 1 ting in common

K deficiency

stress can cause a plant to use up all available K in less than 1hr

and then and only then can mould attack a plant

solution

IMO

just before the light cycle starts,

thoughly spray all effected buds with a liquid K fets

eg Kelp

or my fave is

Eco-Carb

Google it

Eco-carb rulez

Potasum Bicarbonate

will kill all mould

100% instantaly

yes the same stuff that makes cakes rise

as for salvaging the thc

yes there many ways to achieve that goal

the spoors of moulds are many times smaller

so most should pass thru bubble bags

however

some of the spoors will mix and get stuck in the plant oils and waxes

so it will still be in the hashish

nuff to taint the flavour

best way is Hash Oil

desolve the thc into a solvent, strainwith a coffie filter, and extract the solvent

the filter is the key to get the mould spoors out

any filter around 5mc to 10mc will catch mould spoors
