i got that 60CFM squirrel cage fan on its way, if the conversions are correct it will be as powerful as the westaflex 200LPM i have. lets hope so, it would be good news for me

the centrifugal fan u pictured is going to be loud and annoying the squirl fan well i donno it looks weak if i was you i'd go with a ball bearing bathroom fan 200mm's bolt it strait onto the side and have a vent on the other side it should move something around 350 m3 per hour it will be plenty for that little space and there whisper quiet hence why i always reccomend them

Yeh i know, that why in the first post i stated i wouldn't be using it. its only in a picture to show you guys what i dont want and the reason why (its size)

But if you look at the maths the yellow centrifugal fan should move as much air as the squirrel cage fan or at least something close. To be honest i only need half the suction of the yellow centrifugal fan to vent that space.

Out of all squirrel cage fans i have seen 60CFM was the smallest and some 250CFM fans claim to be quiet operating so im gonna assume 60CFM is very shhh. its just structural vibrations i want to work against in the long run regardless of fan choice.

A 200mm bathroom fan is like a window into the growing space, all though i have seen a bathroom styled hydro fan that closes its blades when not spinning.

[EDIT:] new chart found to back up old chart

the thing with the centrifugal fans they make alot of pressure even using carbon filter bags on a centrifugal the fan still keeps 90-95% of its pressure where as that little squirl fan might drop to less than half its pressure without a massive inlet or even a inlet fan if u use a 200mm bathroom fan u just use a 200mm garden pot cut the bottom off screw it onto the fan than slide 200mm ducting over it all done and covered :freak:

the smell can be contained in other ways, im not all to worried about relative pressure of the squirrel cage fun under load. more just about light proofness and adequate temp control

After a few months of doing absolutely nothing with this box its time to really get it cranking, i have changed the light setup, i have selected a different fan (ordering this week maybe) and i need some different constructive criticism from the community. now im not 100% sure the inline fan will handle a carbon filter....but it says its high flowing so im taking a chance, carbon filter will just be an odor sock

High Pressure Mixed Flow Inline Fan

Best option due to low head room would be a really skinny DWC container, combined with stress training on the plant to fill space rather than just grow vertical

Hi TD

Yeah, the fan is a bit iffy. I dunno if it'd be up to the task of handling a can filter. But like you've selected, the odour sok, it should be fine with that.

Also, just as thought, if your temperatures get up too high in the cab (which I highly doubt). You could possibly get some of that styrofoam (from aquarium suppliers) or similar and wrap it in panda, and line the interior of cab with that. There's also some insulating paneling that is even better that commercial air conditioning dudes use for fit out's. But yeah, with direct extraction like you have. I can't see you having any heat issues. :pimp:

the fan is sweet im using one had it for a few years now

is it loud ? it was hard to find a mixed flow fan at 125mm that wasnt a can fan jet turbine noise machine....i hope its quieter than the yellow fan/filter i have at the moment.

yellow centrifugal = 200L/sec 80watt

White inline = 89L/sec 40watt

just by those numbers alone the noise should cut by 50%....or so i hope :pimp:
