There's very little difference between Google Earth and Google Earth Pro. It clearly tells you on their site what extra functions you get with Pro.

As for Government Departments having GE Pro. They would want to, because it would be deemed as commercial use.

 

Also, Google has been slowly building their database with the help of a couple sattelite imagery companies. Which is usually published in the bottom centre of GE, to the right of that you'll see date of satellite scan.

 

It's not that hard to figure out how BS this media release is, once you know the limitations of Google Earth. Believe what you will, as i can't save every idiot..

I have google earth pro. Trust me, this is just blatant bullshit to scare us.

 

Resolution aint anywhere near good enough to spot mullies, unless there 20 feet tall and all in a neat row.

 

Also, I don't think it would hold up in court if on the very rare chance you got caught by Google Earth.

Cops use bluff in the media all the time. I have also noticed that in cop shows like police 10/7 or the the aussie one they also have hugely exaggerated responses to small crime again i recon this is a bluff tactic.
