PROZAC, you do not have enough light to grow, fluoro's are not as effective as HID's for growing, the minimum fluoro wattage I would use for growing is 240w, t-boat says 400w would be better and I agree, a 400w HID would be far superior though.

Types of HID used for growing:

Metal Halide - mostly for veg stage.

High Pressure Sodium – mostly for flowering stage.

Horticultural - veg and flower stages (Son-T-Agro, Son-T-Plus, Lucalox, Lucagrow, etc.).

My plants are grown from seedling/clone to harvest under 430w Son-T-Agro horticultural lights.

g'day; if the son-T-agro is actually the bulb only, then $90 is average cost.

600watt HPS control box and hood etc will cost approx, $50 more than 400watt control box etc.

my 600watt HPS light bulb costs $90, control box, reflector, light fixture was around $200.

if your plants are only 4 weeks old, have 6 sets of leaf and are only 12cm tall, dont worry.

160watts of grolux fluoro works great if used in small area.

Sheeeeez 90$ for a 600w bulb? im guessing that is from a hydro shop?

Try ringing some industrial lighting places mate they have a lot better selection of bulbs and ALOT cheaper... Last time i done a ring around a 600w HPS bulb was $50-60 at most and that was a philips son-t or whatever their called.

do you mean water as in hydro water or water to water soil ?? in both case yes PH is damn important, if hydro make sure this is tested when everything has been added and ready to use, also you should check PPM of your nutes, the light depends on the grow area, a 600watt is good for 1.5meters max, a 400watt is the best for closet setup.
