humidity help please

The only way to decrease humidity is to decrease the temperature of the air. With that said it can get really expensive to cool down your inside air and also maintain your heating setpoint of 78 degrees. If the outside air is at 60-70% you have no choice but to use mechanical cooling such as AC or a chiller in your room. If your outside air is 50% or less then you need to increase your supply air (intake) and exhaust air to the room. There are things that you can do to minimize the humidity in your room like making sure any standing water is outside your room. Each time you water, wait for 1/2 hr. and empty any trays under your plants. If you are in hydro get your resevoirs outside the room. In the end the humidity WILL get you in the form of mold, there's no stopping it at the humidity levels you are talking about. This is my first post ever, hope it helps.

Peace out - MaddCreek

You could do a few other things.

1) get a dehumidifier- recomended.

2)Vent better at night.

3) make your own dehumifier device.- can be left inside grow room or above lights etc

How i would build it is to make it similar to a carbon scrubber except using silica bi carb soda or at worst dry rice

as the scrubbing material.

This will also onsorb some odours but mainly used for reducing humidity.

You can get silica based kitty litters, have the device switch on via a relay when humidity goes over what you want.

Off when it gets a fair way below what you want.

You can then dry out the silica, rice or bicarb soda in the oven and reuse.
