A question of aroma-lol

hurtle

Recommended Posts

Hi guys and girls, firstly, want to say that this site is totally AWESOME!!! I've been a member for a while, and have been doing a lot of reading on this site from all the different forums, and also from a few good books, with the idea of starting a small grow--just a closet atm. I'm at the stage where I think I'm ready (YEY!), but am after some advice about which strains might be best to grow for smell. I'll be using a carbon filter for sure, but am keen for any extra advice you guys can give.

Thanks heaps.

H.

In my experience, most strains with little odour or aroma are usually a pretty piss-poor smoke.

I'd probably plant a fragrant garden to distract~confuse passers by & go for something that smells less like pot & more like something fruity or similar, if I grew at home, rather than in the bush, as I am doing now.

welcome hurtle :) , mate i just finished an AK grow with carbon filter which was just as well cause it did stink too much to do it without a filter ... and yep its a good smoke and easy to grow as any other strain but i had real trouble cloning it .. dunno if it was just me or not? .... cause i had some sensi skunk growing with it and that cloned ok ... skunk was good smoke an easy to grow too but ak was best smoko IMO, skunk didnt smell as much ..

I've read that with AK-47 (I want to try this - sounds awesome - "blows the top of your head off" -High Times Magazine)

it's best to keep humidity way down low as it's prone to rot if too humid.

With cuttings of any plant, not necessarily just pot, once you get some cuttings that do take root well, even when all from the exact same plant, clones from the best rooting of those cuttings will also take root well. Not sure exactly why though it seems to apply to most plants I've ever tried to take cuttings from.

I've read somewhere before that if you get some clean roots of same and add them to a sample of the hydro grow water then put them into a blender, then add that back to oxygenated grow water, it can trigger much faster root formation. I don't have any personal experience with this so DON'T HIT ME.

Thanks guys. I've smoked AK, and yep--did blow me brains out-:). Is northern lights a good smoke? I'm not so worried about getting totaled--want more of a high for some creative work I do at home. I know that a strain with a high percentage of Sativa would be best for this, but because of space issues, will have to keep the height of the plant down, and I've heard that sativas tend to grow into giant ladies!

well hurtle ive had my eye on a sativa which reportedly is quite manageable indoors its from Tikiseeds an called Bambata

ive not grown it but am determinded to grow it cause ive seen great diaries on it, but i cant grow till next year cause of the hot summer ... so im really trying to encourage someone else to grow it so i can watch and check it out :)

but hey there are some other sativas they reckon are managable like Swiss Bliss from paradise seed and ... err forgot the other one :disguise:
