Strong Genetic Base

I have begun collecting strains and retaining males for the purpose of breeding seed for my own stock.

Can you guys help me out with a list of say the top 10 stable pure strains that have proven themselves as producers.

To start with i have my (F1)Skunk #1 Male from Sensi Seed Bank, as for a stud he should fit the bill nicely.

 

So far Ive come up with Skunk #1 , Pure Afghani, Pure Thai, Pure Morrocan.

 

I'd appreciate any and all help on this subject as pedigree interests me alot. Cheers, Red Devil

you want IBL strains or to make your own which is alot easier than you might think.

all you need is a proven plant, make seeds using it as a parent and then use each new generation of seeds to backcross to that original parent. do that enough times and you'll make seeds that grow like clones and breed true

Do a bit of research in the strain guide and forums, as WDC said, IBL (in-bred line) strains are the way to go, both for breeding and for consistent growing, look for f5 or f6 strains. I have seen seedbanks claiming to be at f7 and f8 on some strains .

I am just starting a seed run myself, so far I have JTR#3, Celtic Berry and a few special bagseed (hehe, thats what I'm calling em anyway ) as females, and a bunch of different pollen available from a mate of a mate

Thanks for the reply guys, yeah i will be breeding the offspring back, both sides, so it should be interesting. As it stands, The Skunk#1 will get bred to Super Skunk, NL5xBB, AK47,Cheese and the Kali Mist. I have them on hand so until i can get more "Pure" strains these will have to do. The results im most interested in out of this bunch is the kali x skunk, bred back to the skunk side and inbred with siblings, this should bring the flowering time of pure kali down considerably as well as its size and flower formation, tighten the old girl up so to speak, well thats the plan anyway.. skunk infused with kali..

Wouldn't you lose a lot of the kali effects breeding back to the skunk rather than the kali?

Maybe you should try and look for the effects you most desire in a Cannabis plant, whether its the plant itself like resistant to mold or the THC effects like euphoria.... Thats always a good way to start a process of elimination =)

cheers again for the tips guys.. I am utilising the genetics i most desire (Skunk #1) its just others offer things #1 doesnt, hence my skunk crosses. Kali is something that carrys certain qualitys and lacks others, as i said i will breed it both sides (back to Skunk, and also back to Kali) i will be concentrating more on the skunk crosses though as they interest me alot more.
