The double life of a public servant with ACT Health's alcohol and drug services has been exposed after he admitted growing $160,000 worth of illegal drugs on his NSW property using a sophisticated hydroponic system.

Mark Vincent Blattman, who was caught in June with a crop of 75 marijuana plants and 720g of cannabis in a shed on his Sutton property, has also pleaded guilty to storing illegally held firearms and ammunition.

Blattman's wife, Lyndal, a nurse with the alcohol and drug services, is facing less serious charges over the June 25 raid but has yet to enter a plea.

Queanbeyan District Court heard that the 51-year-old administrator, who was responsible for the services' dental program, was commercially cultivating marijuana in a shed specially designed for the illegal hydroponic operation.

Blattman, who is in custody in NSW, will be sentenced in the Queanbeyan court on December 1 after pleading guilty to a series of charges.

They include cultivating a commercial quantity of a prohibited plant, supplying a prohibited drug and possessing a prohibited weapon, an unauthorised firearm, and ammunition without a licence.
