Leaving my Grow box unattended

Hey ppl...

 

I got a Question, i wanna go away for new years for 5-7 days and leave my plant without monitoring...

 

what should i do before i leave to ensure my plant is still alive upon my return???

 

IE: my 3 plants are in a 1,4m X 1,1m box made of chipboard with a 100mm extractor fan and a 600w sodium lite + ballast (placed in a very moist basement below a restaurant)

the floors are always moist and the area is generally cold and damp & there are no lights or general ventilation, but the room is pretty big [say 8m x 8m]

is this good???

how are you watering them ?

i wouldnt leave them that long without somone checking in on them or it could be 1 resturant burnt to the ground when you get back??

moist damp areas are usally no good for budding time.

How come anyone with leaf in there name,loves to grow in a box

If ya can get another rezzy and float valve ya should b ok for feeds (if recirculating).....an oscilating fan(circulating the air) in there would help dry the room out plus it strengthens the stems and mimics the outdoor breeze.

 

Its best to have fresh air pushing into the garden too........

A bit more info would b handy. - like what sort of medium - their feeding regime - how tall n bushy?

being away for that long i would be more concernd about the plants growing into the lights and burning down .

you could trim it abit if worried about growth into the lights, its in a box so moist wouldnt be too bad as long as not too much air could get in, get a fan u be right Edited November 28, 2008 by jmlaw
