Micropropogation

Recommended Posts

Howdy folks,

I am starting this thread to collect all the links and info I can find in one place regarding TCP; a subject that interests me greatly; although I've barely scratched the surface.

Feel free to add any useful information you have come across including resources for required components.

what do you know so far joe,,does it meen that you can grow plants with just a little bit of green stem or part of a leaf or what,,,,,,,,,,,its all abit over my head

It does Logger King.

On distinct advantage is that the plant can be maintained indefinitely with minimal maintenance, and material for clones can be taken from just about any living cell; including seeds.

One distinct disadvantage is an added layer of complexity.

Genetic material is wholly preserved with TCP, there is thought to be a risk of some loss of genetic material in the normal clone cutting process. (I've not done a thesis on this it's only based on some reading)

TCP makes strain hoarding easy; rather than have living plants or seeds, the strain can be preserved in a jar; you could literally preserve thousands of strains in the space of one bonsai mother.

Like anything it can be done cheaply or you could spend a fortune on it.

Tools are basic; most would have lying around the home.
