Hydro Weed: A Couple Questions

Recommended Posts

Hi.

I ahve two questions regarding growing weed hydrponically. Firstly, Perth laws mean that you can have two non hydro plants with a fine and all that. What are the laws for hydro weed around the country?

And also, for the actual growing, iv found a site that sells kits, everything you need to grow apparently, i was wondering if anybody has had experience with anything similar and could comment on the product:

Thanks

In QLD you'll get reamed for thinking about growing.

Stupid farken lawmakers; In WA you couldn't grow one scrogged hydro but I could grow a 4 meter sativa with equal potency and yield infinitely more pot.

Good work Lawmakers. Dickheads.

As for the kit; IMHO that is incredibly over priced and you are paying far too much for the convenience of getting it all in one kit.

I could easily direct you to make that kit for 1/3 the cost

i'm thinking of growing in melbourne, cant find it anywhere here! so looks as though i will have to grow it myself!

is hydro the best way to do it?

How many universities are there nearby?

TAFE Colleges?

Horticulture students are a great place to start.

AS to the best way; that's a very subjective question.

There is no more powerful light source than that big orange thing that rises in the east; however that limits your growing time.

If I lived on a farm; 4mtr Sativa dom female would be my yard ornament.

In town out of the question in my opinion.

Edit: In Melbourne indoor for sure.

Anything written by Ed Rosenthal is likely to steer you in the right direction.

Also Marijuana Botany is supposed to be a good read; I've not read it yet though.

You don't need to be very handy to put something like that together you just need to think about it.

Basically you have a shelf with an overhead fixture to hang the lights and some NFT gutters.

You can buy a product called Qubelok from Capral Aluminium (there is bound to be one in melbourne near you). The connectors are about $2 each and the 25mm box section aluminium is about $20 for a 6 meter length. Capral will normally cut it for you for a few dollars; sometimes free if you are lucky.

So the stand would be made for less than $50. Then you will need a reservoir and some basic plumbing fittings available from Bunnings <$50. Then you will need a length of square guttering and some end caps $50 and a pump +/-$20 and some hooks and chains +/- $10. A handful of net pots +/-$10 and some hydroton $30. You could shop around for a second hand light fixture and ballast $50-$100 or pick one up on eBay for around $200 delivered complete with bulb, ballast and reflector.

have a good read around these parts and you will find plenty of information. Archive it while you can incase Mr Rudd and Co manage to get their new internet censorship laws through.
