Growing seeds...

Recommended Posts

G'day everyone, I have been growing for years and at last have decided to create my own seed stock.

I had some pollen saved up from some "Blue God" that I got some seeds for when I was over in Vancouver a couple of years ago and decided to cross it with a strain that I have had for a while (don't know the name) that is very chunky and matures really quickly (7 or 8 weeks).

Anyway the breeding went well and the plant has quite a few seeds on it and though the bud looks ready and normally I would cut it down at this stage, the seeds still look a little immature/green and I was wondering if they ripen (darken) on the plant or if they darken up in the drying process.

Any advice would be very helpful as growing seeds is all new to me.

They ripen on the plant so maybe you can cut most of it down 2 smoke & leave the parts with the wanted seed to finish. They will swell & go darker (except for some breeds which can even be off-white) as they ripen and the covering will start to open up somewhat if they are on the outside of the bud & some (or many) may fall out if you wait too long. Some immature green seeds may survive & grow ok if they have hardened up enough, but best to wait if u can.

sounds like they could easily go another week to me :smoke:

you should see the seeds pretty much popping out of the flower they are in when they are ready.

they shouldnt literally come right out, but they should split the flower up enough for you to see a mature seed inside.

if that doesnt happen though i still recommend waiting a week and then every few days taking a small bud to see how they are going :peace:
