im from S.A. and the weed anywhere in OZ is good. the biggest difference between S.A. and the rest of the country is the pure amount of good gear that we have in such a small area where some of the larger states you have to dig around a bit more to find good gear. the other thing about S.A. is that some of the genetics have been passed around through family and friends for years and cant be bought anywhere and it is this gear that is awesome. the other thing that makes S.A. gear great is that alot of it is still grown outdoors and that in itself tends to make the buds a little more potent than indoor gear.

 

as for the manicuring\curing procedures in S.A. some people just dont have the time to properly manicure 100,200,300 lbs of bud. its as simple as that. i was doing 20-30lbs crops until recently and i can tell you that even with a few mates helping out it is still a real pain in the ass to sift through 30lbs of bud and still make it look good.

Ive been told that theres no way people will take bud with leaf on it for the prices they reckon they are paying.....so basically they are just after some good shit for no money.....and then theyll take it to the east coast and sell it for mega and make mega money.......

field of light......yer i think we were speaking about the qual of oz weed compared to some of the crap overseas.

 

i find that in adelaide a pound of good gear will go anywhere between $2000 - $3000 and this gear is usually well presented simply because these guys grow many small (5-10kw) setups all over the place so they are continuously harvesting different grows at different times which makes life much easier. but your right about the runners trying to buy good gear from here and then taking it up along the coast and trying to make a good 30% on what they paid for it here. i have seen in the last couple of years that there has been an increase of runners buying gear from S.A. and taking it up to the coast and swapping it for E's and meth and then comming back down here to sell what they have swapped.

 

the large outdoor guys tend to be a little bit different simply because they are harvesting huge amounts in a fairly short period of time. i have had a couple of mates in the past that have been so desperate to finnish a harvest that they have used sheep sheering sheers to speed up the manicuring process.

 

when i was growing outdoors i was using a strain that i was getting from a close friend of a family member. i have no idea what it was only that it had been used by these people for many years. as i said in the other thread i was pulling atleast 2lbs per plant which is nothing too special for outdoors.

 

also i really dont think that this gear will be well suited to indoors which is the whole reason why i am looking into getting a new strain.

 

ps. i still intend on trying this strain indoors in a small setup (600-1000w) just to see how it goes indoors but from what i know these guys have never grown it indoors so it will be trial and error. if it is good indoors i will have to look into giving some of these seeds out as it is deffinately killer smoke. ( i have been smoking these genetics for 10 years and it still knocks me on my ass)

the best weed i smoke comes out of my green room..

 

Kc 33 x Mango.. is supposed to b one kick ass plant

ive read around on it and it can yeild upto 2/3 kilos per plant..

as for the names of the strains i think its all just kiddie gimmicks, i mean no offence but not one of the large scale growers down here would be caught dead selling several pounds of gear and then saying "its such and such strain" you just dont do it, if they want to know what the gear is like then you simply let them stoke some up. people dont start to use strain names until it gets down to the local dealers who are selling oz's and j bags and generally they have no idea what the weed is simply because they were never told in the first place.

Mr Putard... i have been looking into some of these strains over the last couple of months and at some stage i will grab a few packs although i think to start with i might stick to ordering from with in OZ. i am deffinately interested to see what some of this gear is like although i have probably smoked alot of it already with out even knowing

given the choice for commercial reasons if I had to....grow a plant that grew 4 foot long buds and one which grew golfballs.....the commercial grower would largely opt for the mega buds wouldnt they? Given by what u r saying the elitist commerical grower doesnt give a shit depending on the smoke quality.......
