The unknown author done a good job of pointing out some of the negatives, and failed to mention any positives. Not too different to other authors that beat up on the negatives of cannabis. Just depends what side of the fence you are on, i guess.

 

Alcohol did rule my life once, and i've also worked in the industry. So i've seen it from both sides of the Bar. But to beat up on alcohol, makes the author no better than the one's that beat up on cannabis. Whatever your choice is, you'll find responsible users as well as abusers. It's fact of life, and too big of topic that can be summed up in one post..

 

I personally am not in favour of publicly beating up on either the Alcohol or Cannabis Industries, to paint one or the other in a negative or positive light, just to prove a point. Freedom of choice is the path that i favour above all else..

gee I don't know Indycar, not sure if the point was to beat up on an individual drug otherwise the article could have gone indepth into the negative health affects. I think it's more to point out a lack of equality in law regarding socially acceptable practices.

the author could also have included tobacco and pokies as socially acceptable things that ruin lives

 

the author could not say the same about cannabis where the only thing about cannabis that ruins lives is prohibition itself

 

Rewind to 1933 and if the US applied factual research into it's drug policies Anslinger would have been promoting cannabis instead of demonizing it

Hey folks Its always made me wonder why the goverment legalize alcohol and not cannbis?

 

With all the drink driving,car smashes some fatal,violence,domestic abuse, just to mention a few.

 

The damage alcohol does in our communitys far out ways the damage cannabis does.

 

In my case alcohol makes me feel confident? and want to get up to mischief.

 

Cannabis makes me chill out. would'nt do anything as bad as i would do on alcohol.

 

You read in news reports some one busted with cannabis they call it a dangerous drug?

 

Alcohol is the dangerous drug i think.

No I don't feel that strongly about alcohol just the laws and equality in them, especially where a benign drug/plant like cannabis is sending people to jail when alcohol is sending them to their graves.

 

As for the other illicit drugs that cause damage how much of that can be blamed on prohibition? When education, regulation and control are proven harm reduction methods why are we allowing organised crime and police forces with corrupt vested interests to dictate what we can and can't believe in?

 

Probably something worth noting about the unknown author is that after his ten years of selling alcohol to alcoholics he joined the fire service and dealt with first hand the impact alcohol has on lives. The author is also an alcoholic so please don't accuse him of being a preacher or beating up on a drug, it's a dominating society he has issues with.

i agree, nice story....i'm in the industry now and have been for a while....there are some good times to be had on booze.

 

i found it always makes for a calmer atmosphere if there is a couple of spliifs passed around the beer garden whilst the security are helping move some shit in the cellar.

 

tme now for a caming ale methinks.
