I'm waiting on my lights for my setup. I already have everything I need for a good hydro grow. I have three 20 Watt 6500k daylight fluorescent bulbs 24" a piece. Will these work for veg. I have them about 3-4 inches above the plants and have made a hood lined with aluminum foil for now to reflect the light. Can I veg with this for now?

yeah man should be fine

ofc hid lighting will promote faster vigourous growth

but the fluoro will keep em alive and growing

id even get tha bulbs as close as 5 cm from tops with the fluoros u have

all tha best

Yeah I would have thought thats too close, however I'm only starting out, so will give it a try.

I dropped the lights and I am having the worst time keeping them cool short of blowing an oscillating fan straight on them. Gonna raise them back up to about 3 inches. Thanks for the advice though on the lights I was worried they weren't going to be strong enough.

just keep it at 3 inchs i have mine at the same distance u shouldnt have a problem with heat tho i run 3 48watt fluros and no heat issues at all

Thanks man, yeah i dunno what's going on with the heat. I mean I usually keep them at around 78-80 but it jumped to 83 almost immediately. I may have overstated the heat "issue". What do you guys grow at?
