Hi,

I did a search for this, but couldent find anything.

A friend is having some problems with humidity, he recently got a humidistat and turns out hes been growing it for a while with a humidity level of "LO" according to the stat, which means its under 20% reletive humidty during the day and about 20/30 if hes lucky. wondering if anyones got any tips on how raise it?

The temp of the room is usually between 25 and 34 max, mostly sitting at 28. i donno if that helps.

Anyway, thanks for any help.

Thanks for the reply razza,

Hes tried all of those, cept the humidifier.

Just yesterday he sat there spraying the while room and used the while sprayer till it was all deformed form the lack of oxygen :scratchin: and it only got to 44 and stayed there for around 10 -30 min max.

A humidifier sounds good, but he has no idea what kind to get.

You can buy water evap coolers for hydro rooms and attach it to a thermostat. Some hydro shops sell them custom made (unlike the plastic ones you buy at electrical stores). When the room hits a certain temp it will switch it on. I used to use one and it raised my humidity 20% and dropped my room temp 5deg. My room sat at about 30deg and 55% humidity in summer.

A few questions - is the space enclose completely (air tight), like a room in a house, or shed?

Air exchange is the best solution to stabilize humidity problems. The air in most places in australia would not get that dry (20%) . I guess you may be at a very southern lattude or North nearing the equatorial North but the humidity levels there it would be rare to get outside ait\r at less than 20% I would think.

2 more practical suggestions are:

1) to place a bowl of water in your grow room

2) soak some old towels in water till they are water logged then place them in the room/space.

:peace:

Nitty.
