hi, long timer stoner, first time grower sirpro here;

(psst if anymods read this plz change my nick. ill be a 420 member again soon[does your proxy work for things like irc and web browsing or just for this site? {am willing to pitch in a lil}] honest)

at the risk of hallucenating, im gonna get on with it.

im thinking of growing intrigued by the idea of the aerogarden.

when i found out it was complete cac (cac being the vietnamese word for shit, :P) i decided to go more into depth...i assumed growing was a stikky sit-e-ation.

what i get is

- the nutes (everythings on the bottle)

- general growing (im assuming like a plant, rocks, choice soil, seed, then wait.)

what i dont get

- temp degrees?

- ventilation (vent on one side of the box, with a shaft leading outside, 2 computer fans inside for support)

- growing circumstances (using giprock to pretty much make a box and line it with foil)

- preventing mould

i dunno if im making it hard on myself or i just dont understand it but yeh...

also whats the most safe and secure seedbank. i was thinking of using everyonedoesit.com, but i thought id get some advice from more experienced growers than the know it all stoners. lol

p.s i wanna grow cuz i feel dirty paying someone for plants. agreed?

oh the shame that we stoners are faced with daily. FTS. :D

the last thing you want is an autoflowering strain thats been feminized. i personally couldnt think of worse genetics to blow your money on, but thats just my opinion....personally what i believe you want is a strain that has proven itself time and time again as easy to grow, yields well and is potent. what strain you get will depend on the type of buds you like to smoke and the growing conditions, but just do me a favour and dont believe the hype seedbanks give about their strains...if you look around long enough you'll see every seedbank thinks all their strains are the bomb and could never be over priced, but if you read the grower reports you'll read about how there was a bullshit amount of phenos, the plants took 2 or even more weeks to flower than advertised, etc. in other words seedbanks are full of shit and what ever they say should be taken with a grain of salt and what ever still has your attention should be investigated from the growers point of view. once you have found a strain that tickles your fancy and has proven itself by being grown out by a few different growers who did a grow diary on a site not related to the seedbank than thats the strain i recommend getting.

- ventilation (vent on one side of the box, with a shaft leading outside, 2 computer fans inside for support)

the temperature should be kept at around 28 degrees celsius. that is the optimal temp for growing pot because it is warm and is the easiest for the plant to grow in. under 20 degrees and growth slows down a little, under 10 and it slows down dramatically. mj can grow in 40+ degree days provided there is enough water, but the plant fights for survival after 35 degrees so if you can keep things ideally around 28 degrees that would be perfect.

ventilation is extremely important because like us plants need to breathe. its also the one of the best ways of preventing mould from taking hold. the only way you can have too much ventilation is if the plants are pretty much being blown over, but minimally all your really need to do is replace the air in the grow room a few times a minute and have a fan blowing over the plants. do that and the chances of you getting any mould will be next to none lol

how you grow will depend on too many things for me to give a decent reply. if you cant have a permanent setup it might be best for you to invest in a grow tent or something like that which can be pulled down in a matter of minutes. then again if you can have a grow room setup all year round it would probably be best to build one yourself because you can have it setup exactly the way you want. but like i said before it depends on way too many things that i dont know to give you a decent reply so the more info you can provide the better.

preventing mould is extremely easy, removing it is not :D you just need to do a preventative scrub over of the grow room between grows if possible using a mould remover/killer like bleach and keep the ventilation up with air flowing around each and every single bud. if one bud doesnt get enough air flow mould will take hold and then it will spread like wildfire. but provided you keep the room clean and the air flowing mould should never be an issue for you.

well i think that about covers what i can answer, but as i know this post will raise some more questions i'll check back later :P

i made a post....it was really long...funny too...but i wasnt signed in...

*really long fucking sigh*

1. i totally feel you brother, plz show me the way...im sick of smoking shit. i want flavour and potency, could care less about yeild or grow time.

2. lets say hypothetically the grow box is 170 x 75 x 70 with two comp fans on the right hand side and a duct on the left leading up and out. debating wether or not to put a fan on the left hand side to help the air out instead of it building up inside zi box.

3. errbuddy been real helpful like round hurr. will show some love in a few days. does your proxy work for general internet services? im very very keen.

4. the grow room is pretty much giprock (thinking of lining it with aluminum foil) pretty much just want a plant in there with a light. tryna use minimal amount of wattage ($$$)

are you sure thats all? no other tips or tricks?!?!? you make it sound so easy lol

p.s only payment method is by post? or is it me?

growing pot is like anything in life, its tricky at first as there is lots to learn, but once you know the basics it becomes very easy to do :sly:

sounds like you'll be growing in a small wardrobe lol i would personally put a pc fan on each side instead of both on one side as you would get slightly better air flow around the plants, but provided you have a decent extraction fan you could get away with having no inlet fans. you still need to make holes so air can get in, but the better the extraction fan is the less there will be a need for extra fans to blow air in :D if you are wanting to save money on your electricity bill and to make your room a bit quieter its something i highly recommend looking into.

as for the proxy, to be honest i have no idea...the person to ask would be pure

when it comes to reflective materials you really get what you pay for. mylar is one of the best you can get but a little pricey, panda film works great and is realatively cheap and the last thing i would recommend is painting the room white. al foil, car windshield reflectors, etc. basically any cheap and nasty idea like that will work, but they will not relfect nearly as much light as any of the other methods i mentioned and if you are paying for your light why waste it?

tips and tricks hey :D

if you run the lights of a night the grow room is much easier to keep cool.

you can get away using fluros for a couple of weeks of vege instead of using a HID light.

to get the most from your plants never cut them until harvest, instead train them using string or something simular

use nutrients that were specifically designed for your method of growing.

dont use pk13/14 until just before you start flushing otherwise it can prolong flowering by a 1-2 weeks.

NEVER USE PGR'S LIKE ROCKJUICE!!!

most importantly, you only get what you put in. a seed has 100% potential, but after you sprout the seed that drops down with every little mistake or bad evironmental factors. if you spend money now on getting everything perfect your plants will love you for it and grow up big and strong, but if you stinge out on them from the beginning you'll soon learn that your plants will do the same in return.

as for payment options, that really depends on which seedbank you use. some require you to post it in the mail, others have australian bank accounts that you can deposit money into. some have neither of those so be sure to read up and make an informed decision about which payment option suits you best before placing your order :P

ok so next on my list are seeds and lighting.

i wish to smoke on the bubblegum or something similar.

what would be the best place to score those type, also, what type of seed should i buy (feminised, whatever)

also im guessing theres two stages in a marijuanna plant cycle by reading.

veging and budding.

can i use the same light for the entire life cycle of the plant? or is it neccessary to have two different ones?

<--edit

im also wondering what soil/potting mix to use and the combination of nutes. i hear alot about blood and bone?? coco/perlite??

plz explain

im hoping to pretty much have a pot plant sitting under a light with a timer and feed it myself with the proper chems.

<---edit
