my plants are slow?

Recommended Posts

gotta quick question,, it seems as though i have hit the pause button my plants, some are growing some dont seem to be doing much , they are still pretty young so im not expecting buds yet, but some have barely got 2 sets of leaves, a couple are doing there thing with a few leaves which are nice an green, but the others i dunno, also i threw 2 plants i already had, in their, ok listen to this, a few months back i had some plants growing,it wasnt seriuos i hadnt grown anything for a while an was keen on the day, after 2mths then they all decided to basicly shit them selves, i had to crops an this happened to both, the first one im sure i fucked them with slow release fertilizer sticks, which i broke up into the soil, the result the died in a week, they got to about 30cms high, second batch, same deal, got keen on the day planted a few seeds an left them, they started growing so id water them an feed them, but im not sure what killed these one but something fuked them in a week too, u could break leaves an tips right of the plant an smoke, they went so dry, once they were dying i then started to look after them, but couldnt save them, i only manged to prolong their deaths, they would start to kick back but then die again, but i kept 3 of them away from death till i got this light, then they went under the light with the others, one didnt make it an just died, ok these plants i kept alive, were basicly a stem in the ground with one or two very dry yellow leaves, the stems didnt even look that good, if u watched for a day or two u could see it start going brown around the bottom then it would nearly go green then brown then nearly green, so where was i , oh yeah, i put these "shitty stems" into the cupboard an well fuk me, one has gone berserk it look like two plants, i had basicly cut it down to 5cm stump with two branches about 1cm long with one leaf on each branch, each branch has grown like a plant it has grown about 10cms, with lots of new leaves lots of new branches how stoked am i, the other stem in dirt, i really just that a 20cm stem with one 10cm branch about half way up, an another small branch a bit lower than that, there was one leaf on the top of this plant an one leaf on the long branch, an these were dry yellow leaves too,, this one has taken off too with new growth growing from everywhere, some new branches maybe 1 or 2cm long sofar, most are coming out from the middle of plant, but bits are growing on the long branch too, as well from the very top of stem, pretty stoked again, but these ones are killing my fresh new sprouties in the growing department, i not really worried if they take a while to get going, but they have to get going soon right? any ideas, some dont seem to be really green, and mosts leaves are small, its like there having a competion to see who can grow the slowset with the smalllest leaves ,:( also there are maybe 3 different types growing an i know not all plants grow the same speed,, also hows this,in those last 2 crops that died, the first lot was maybe 2 different strains, in the second ,allthough not being serious about it, i used up a lot of odd seeds id collected from different types of smoko maybe like 15 different strains, ones i only had like one or two of seeds of, that really pissed me of, just before they carked it, there were some realy freaks in there, some that grew one fingered leaves, some that grew five leaves in each set up the stem an then grew five branches in each set up the stem, some grew natrually tipped, not one was the same, i managed to keep some alive out off that batch, but in the heat of saving my dying freinds i had to majorly cut them back an cut leaves off so i dont realy know which i kept, but im sure i kept the one with the single fingered leaves, ill have to get some pics for u guys, as this is the only place i know where i could show my plants an setup,an im busting to show people,

heyllo,,, you forgot to mention your ph dude....and are you still giving lots of slow release ferts??? I find that some of those ferts can actually disolve rather quickly...meaning that you could have flushed most of the excess away with you other plants...it's always good to find out your soil ph first though...as this can save many problems later....you can get a soil ph tester from BIGW for $13...

right now, the ph is about 7,maybe a touch under, nah i stopped using those slow realease fert after the first ones,an they were hardcore ferts, i broke it up into soil, an i think i mighta still giving them normal ferts, i grew next crop in new soil, i coulda overdone the ferts i dunno an i dont know what the ph of either of those crops too,, the ones i saved an the others i kept alive all got repooted in new dirt too, so it wasnt those slow release fert, they are in soil now under my light, all my other babies are in perlite/vermic an there ph is proberly about 7 or just under,,with my outdoors plants, im used to putting them in big ass pots an pretty much letting them go, just fert everynow an then, usually i would only fert when they looked like they needed some feed, like a few yellow leaves then id feed em, an they would be sweet, these ones i tried were only in smallish pots,, but ive seen mates who had plants about 45cms high with heads all over it in, like tiny pots, so i dont think the size pot had an effect maybe just with how much water an ferts i gave it,as u can tell im not gonna let this batch die, if that happens oh the pychological damge to my green fingers would cripple me,:(

g'day; do not use slow release ferts in stick or block form, it will create 'hot-spots' in soil mix.

if using slow release ferts, use that only. if soil is good quality, a plant should not require extra ferts for 2-3months.(in 250mm pot).

how old are your seedlings?

are they all the same strain type?

most seedlings dont grow fast until after 3weeks (from my exp), if seedlings are in fresh good quality soil mix, add water only, do not add extra ferts.
