Importing seeds in W.A.

I have read a great deal of bullshit here and elsewhere on the police "breaking down your door" for importing 5 seeds, etc. The police (in the higher echelons, at least) are not stupid. They know, as well as we do, that marijuana is not a criminal problem and act against it only to satisfy politicians and others who have no life of their own.

 

I therefore find it very difficult to believe that anyone has ever actually been prosecuted in court for importing small (e.g., less than 50 or so) seeds. I say that it has never happened, at least within the last decade.

 

Is there anyone out there who can tell me I am wrong?

Well, customs can come if they are imported, with a search warrant. And for most of us, that is where the problem lies. Not many people are scared of getting busted for seeds but its whatever else they find when they come that is the problem.

 

Importing seeds has nothing to do with the WA Police. I think you will find due to importing items, that its a federal offence you have committed, not a state offence. It could be handed over I guess to the locals to deal with, because as you said its pretty low on their shitlist. I could be wrong but thats my understanding.

 

Ive never heard of anyone in WA been prosecuted for importing seeds either just for the record. And more to the point, I doubt it would amount to anymore than a small fine.

 

Edit: For the most part you can limit the hazards involved.

1. Never EVER send your seeds to your grow house. There is a couple of members here who have been caught. Do a search.

2. Never put your real name on the envelope.

3. Leave the seeds sitting unopened on the counter for a couple of weeks just in case they rock up.

4. Loose lips sink ships.

 

Not fool proof, but most of that will limit the risk involved. This topic has been discussed at length elsewhere in these forums.

make no mistake about it, importing cannabis seeds into the country, regardless of which state you are in is a federal crime. they take quarentine very seriously here and it doesnt matter if you are getting 1 seed or a million, you are still importing a prohibited plant substance and while most people will simply have the package destroyed or recieve a phone call telling them they have been a bad boy and that any more mail to their address is going to be screened, MANY people have had the police turn up at their door with a warrent instead of the seeds

 

just keep in mind that the burdon of proof is on the police when it comes to proving your guilt. if you pay via credit card, online bank transfer, etc. your details will be recorded and denying ownership will be pointless. if you pay via bank deposit or another anonymous method and follow the rest of torture's advice all you have to do is deny ownership of the package and/or knowledge of its contents and the police wont have a choice but to drop the case. thats not to say they wont tear your house to the ground looking for something to pin on you though so just make sure you have nothing at all that can be used against you and you'll be a-ok

let me be the first to say the info given here is priceless.. I had to learn the hard way when i was alot younger... had nothing to do with seeds or rec drugs but had to do with steroids... i did exactly as WDC suggested but when they rocked up to my residence at the time and had a search warrant i simply denied ordering the pack which was fine.. it was only when they searched my house and car they found viles and tabs and it all went to shit rather quickly.... its kind of hard to say its not yours when your finger prints are all over it and everything is packaged ready to move...

 

so follow what they say to the letter and dont learn the hard way... cause ill tell you this you will lose more than just your innocence if they can pin that shit on you... be safe and always think ahead of what ever it is you are doing...

You are kidding. Cannabis is a crime and cops will police it. Their funding depends on it. The fact that cannabis is illegal creates more jobs for cops, prisons and their employees, judges, social workers, psychologists, e.t.c. Illegal drugs are big business and important in keeping a lot of people in legitimate employment. Don't forget how organised crime profits as well.
