To CFL or not to CFL

the plant will grow under an orange light from the time it sprouts to the day u harvest ( assuming its female ) but its proven that a blue-ish light is absorbed by the plant more than any other colour on the spectrum. except for green the plant absorbs all. the reason we see the plant as green is because it refracts the green wavelength of light right into your beady eyes.

I found a 45 watt phillips high output florescent globe ther for 25$ they have a 6500k with 2850 lumen output i put 4 of these in my 2 x 4 grow box and i get nice results. they have a higher wattage one ther i think its 160 watt was almost twicw as expensive.

sorry to Bring back an old Thread but, I am Building a Clone Box and thought this would be a relevant thread,

 

when people are referring to a 125w CFL - is this 125 equivelant (i.e. around 28w)??

 

I am planning my box to be 600x600x900h (2x2x3) - The Grow room calculator suggested i need about 150w. is this 6x 28w CFL or 1 CFL) ?

ok, after a bit of research, i have found that 125w CFL is equivalant to around 500w incandescent. (according to some dude on ebay)

 

any suggestions on what light(s) i will need in my Clone room (as above), would like to keep 1 mum in there also (obviously due to size constrants it wouldnt be for long..

without working it out sounds right.

This Cfl is bright but I beleive to keep a mum and clones alive

a mix of cool and warm furo tubes will be more than enough.

just a quick question do these 250w fluros systems suck the same kinda power a HPS system does....

 

im just a litlte paranoid about have my power monitored and them seeing a massive increase in power usage
