auto-flowering strains in australia

Hey guys and gals

 

Just a quick question just wondering if any of my australian brothers and sisters have had any luck with the auto-flowering strains... I know there are alot of ppl that will say they are garbage.. because the yield is abosulety shit and the smoke is the kind of stuff you wouldn't give the crak head down the street

 

but just as an experiment i would love to get my hands on a few of the different strains and grow them out door all year long just to see how they fair in australia

 

so what strains have you guys tried and what did you think of it if anything at all..

 

and i see in a few threads ppl might be crossing the autoflower strains with other promising strains... is there any more info on this ?

im not afan of autoflowering strains

not that ive tried em either

i like to take contriol and vege for as long or as short as i want

outdoors they may be handy for stealth low to ground grows

but as i said i havent personally tried

thanx billl what you brought up is the exaxt reason as to why shromy would like to try em... the fact that they dont get very tall and are very stealthy and the face they can flower all year round out side makes them very very apealing to shroomy...

 

i forgot to metion if any aussie have used them could they please mention what seed bank they got them from shroomy is looking at grabbing some very soon and wants to use a seed bank that has qualitty seeds as well as quality packaging

In most parts of Australia it is quite easy to flower outdoors all year round anyways provided you give em a start off period under lights , to increase your success rate a "hot house" or greenhouse would help allot . as for the hight just train train train .

 

In my experience auto flowering strains contain a cool characteristic but seriously lack in the yield , potency and taste department, and because the results are so easy to mimic without mucking around with the genetics I simply don't find them to be for me.

 

If it was me I would be looking into flowering the strain of my choice outdoors with a little indoor veg time and possibly invest in a small or even makeshift greenhouse its not a need but the more south you are the more it will help with the temperatures and the further north you are the more it will help with mould issues from heavy rains .

hey man i know exactly what you mean, thats why i got some lowryder 2 beans, im currently ger minating one in coco soil using the greenhouse effect. from the research ive done lowryder 2 yield more and are more potent however they get just a little bit taller than the regular lowryder because theyve been crossed with a sativa. but who knows it could all be shit ill find out in about 60 days so if your going to wait you could watch mine and then decide.

Same kind of principle applies to any strain , Australia is one of the rare places that you can pull an outdoor crop all year round , but to get you passed that weaker stage of the plants life it is recommended you do something to assist , ie starting them off indoors or under the cover of a greenhouse lowryder is auto flowering but your issue won't be getting it to flower it will be getting it to survive... cold mornings , heavier winds , more rain etc are all things you have to overcome for the plant at it's early stages of life cause if it doesn't pass this point it doesn't matter what was destined for it eventually. It's not impossible to do what you want but it's far from easy and you can expect a very high failing rate for the seedlings early in life

shrooomy would deff be doing it alot smarter if he was going to do what he suggested, would deff be starting them under lights in doors for atleast a 3 weeks to a month... then planting em somwhere safe... well what is thought to be safe...

Isn't it bad enough there will be hemp pollen floating everywhere? Why add to the crap weed in this country with lowryder ?

Do yourself a favour, buy some Northern Lts seeds, or any decent Indica and actually have a go at seeing how they flower once put outdoors. Once the mothers are a few months old they will flower immediately after being taken out of 18/6.

I remember giving a friend some clones at start of October, we were smoking them at christmas. Try it
