some questions

hi guys i'm new here. i'm not sure if this is the place to post my questions but i'll shift it if nessecary sorry if i caused any problems..

 

firstly i'm really interested in growing/owning my own plants. and im really interested in the ak47 or white widow strain.. firstly are those too hard for a first timer? and is it even possible o get the seeds in australia? or imported?

 

also i do not have a basement or a spare room. i'm wondering what other alternative is there if i wanna grow my own plants. is it possible to grow it in an enclose maybe portable device? like a closet? for indoor setup i'm wondering where can i get the lights and equipements for the plants also would it rasise suspiction at the store?

 

lastly if indoor growing is not possible for my situation i kind of have a balconey and would that be sufficinet for outdoor growth? what kind of set up would i need for outdoor?

 

i know both have different set up but i kind of need a rough guide or what to do/equipment to get. ( e.g what soil nutrients to use, what lights to get, do bunning sells them? ya know blah blah blah)

 

also i mannged to get some bush weed and found some black seed. should i try planting them or it would be a waste of time.

U have stumbled into the rite place to learn all u need to about growing this herb we all love to grow and smoke.

 

You can get seeds imported from over seas, we have a list of seed banks here on osa.

 

Lighting you can go to your local hydroponics shop and get what u want or u can look on ebay and fine just about all the stuff u will need.

 

For a indoors setup u can use a 2 door wardrobe and fit it out with a light and fans and u can grow in there as i have done along with a lot of other members have done as well.

 

There are simple basic setups for indoors that dont need much looking after or u can go a lil more advance, do lots of reading on the styles of grows ppl have done and once u think u have found a style of grow u would like to try just ask away and we will do out best to have u growing in no time.

 

Some with setting up a 2 door robe if u go that was just ask away and we will help u get it all setup ready to have your 1st grow in it...

seeds are pretty easy to get...i dont see a prob with the strains u mentioned..u will have to order from a commercial seedbank to get the strains as i dont think aust has any seedbanks

a waredrobe from vinnies will be sufficient..40$..

u can order stuff from the net if u arent to keen on attending a hydro shop

as long as u dont talk shop at the shop u should be right,just dont mention cannabis

outdoors on ya balcony is up to u,id just get a massive pot.50 ltrs +

although in oz the season is winding up outdoors

the sun is pretty weak for outdoor growing this time of year imho

400w hps,waredrobe,medium?? soil id try searles premium mix

maybe a good quality nutrient as the plants will exhaUST any goodness from soil within 5 weeks

u will need a quality exhaust for the drobe,id say centrifugal over inline

u will need odour control,carbon filter or odorsok

these will need to be bought somewhere other than bunnings as htye dont stock em

if its good smoke chances are the seed will produce good smoke

i know i'll have to order the seeds from a comecial seedbank but would it have any trouble getting the seeds imported into aust? i know using money order would be the safest and damn white widow is really expensive

 

i do not have much expirence in smoking the strains actually i don't even know much about them. i'm choosing ak47 andwhite widow as they look the most beautiful ( bad choice i guess)

 

 

i thk i'll be going for a 2d wardrobe to try out. is there a rogue guide out there so that i can like follow the instructions to set up the system

also i'm wondering how much would the set up cost? the lights, exhaust, hydo systems, timers and stuffs. Also when you mention about a quality exhaust for the drobe, centrifugal over inline, odour control,carbon filter or odorsok. i'm not sure what those are/mean/do as in the exhaust would be for airing the plants? and the carbon filter for filtering the smell? sorry i'm really unclear and just wanna make sure before i head out to purchase the items.

the odorsok is a odor treatment

they last for 12 mths

a carbon filter is a bigger heavier original smell control option

both need to have air pulled threw them

the centrifugal fans are designed for puling air and moving

they are louder than a inline,true

but for efficien exhausting u need something strong

cause a 400w generates some heat

and the exhaust is used to remove this heat from around the plants

its hard to put a figure on wat it costs to set up

as eg i make some stuff for my use

some peeps buy everything just depends on how handy ya are

but i got me 1st light for 90$ 2nd hand at hock shop

exhaust u are looking at 200$+

thanks so much for your help bill i'll go check out on the items. also for a wardrobe setup u'll need a 4000w exhaust? is it possible to get something smaller?

 

about hand watering i was thinking about that but how often do u need to water them? and what about the nutrients? do you premix them? cos i got longgg days out and if i decide to grow in a fridge/wardrobe should i go hydro? or soil is just as fine?

i use coco perlite as a medium

as its cooler now i get away with watering every 3 days

but wen she warms up i have to feed daily

the nutrients u need to mix up

u looking at anywhere between 15-30 for a ltr

]40-100$ for 5 ltr bottles

i use 2 part grow and bloom from dutch master advance

its up to u wat medium u use

soil is pretty safe for a 1st time grower
