Flushing

Everyone knows that you must flush, but what is the best way.

 

1. Grab a bucket once a week and drown the ladies?

 

2. Run your reservoir with water only till empty?

 

3. Or to heck with it, I'll do when I remember?

it really depends on how the plants are being grown, but for plants grown in pots that are hand watered i recommend watering 2-3x the pot size of pH adjusted water through the pot every day or 2 for a week or 2 depending on your tastes. if you are growing in 10L pots that would mean 20-30L of water every day or 2 for each pot. for hydroponically grown plants i recommend filling the res, bucket, what ever with fresh, pH adjusted water every day or 2 for a week or 2.

 

do that and you'll have a much tastier final product

Cheers Chronic, I was actually referring to the start of flowering and up to the final flush, so as the nutes don't build up.

Just remember this that naturally, seasonally, anywhere in the world..(apart from the tropics) just prior to harvest.. the cool change that starts the rainy season. so .. it generally rains a bit before you harvest(ie; a good flush). This year for me .. I got 2mm of mud.. nice on sticky heads .. I can tell you it wasn't a lot of fun at all.

in that case you flush exactly the same as i mentioned above, but instead of a week or 2 you do it once every week or 2

i flush for 10 days straight at end of cycle

prior to that

i just water excessevely once a fortnight

if i see anything suss

just ph water for that day..

but as wdc says 3 x the amount of water to medium

is the general rule
