How can I improve the taste?

Recommended Posts

Hi guys,

I'm exhausted of smocking the same tasting herbs all the time. When I was in Amsterdam I smoked amazing stuff. I say it's amazing only Because of the unusual fruity after taste as well as it was like smocking thin air.

I asked the café how they made it taste really sweet. I was advised that they used Advanced Nutrients "sweet leaf and sometimes final phase. And it didn’t matter what strain it was they just added the correct amount into the reservoir which assists in the flushing of accumulated nutrients in flowers and leaves. In various herb crops where taste and texture is important, removing the chemical residue giving a better sweet taste.

I read up on sweet leaf and final. But it's impossible to buy in Australia!! Is there any other methods I've heard of Pineapple juice but it's not exactly going to act as a flushing agent isn’t it?

Could I please have some advice on this subject?

I always use just water,no nutrients for the last week of flowering.Ive been told it flushs the plant and causes the plant to use up any nutrients it may have in its system.I dont know if this is true or not but it does seem to improve the tatse of the final product.Soom strains like jucy fruit or northern lights do have a fruity after tatse where other strains like skunk and some skunk hybreds have a almost musky tatse!

flush with pH adjusted water for the last week or 2 and once your buds have been manicured and dried stick them in a jar with something full of taste and smell like a stick of vanilla, pack of hubba bubba bubble gum, etc. and after a couple of weeks the buds will get the taste of what ever you put in the jar with them :applause:

Good suggestion WantDaChronic :applause: yes .. you can leave some dried apple or pineapple or mango in the jar. Only needs to be a small amount though.

or.. you can breed for sweeter varieties.. I have plants that smell like apples and others like pineapples. A lot of that is in the breeding.

Another way is to cut it with other dried herbs. I had friends who reckoned straight heads were too harsh and bitter but were also looking for ways to mix the weed with something other than spin .. to er spin it out for a bit longer without that tobacco.

They did their experiments with herbs from my garden. Parsley came up as the best to them as it didn't detract from the flavours of the weed but did make the smoke smoother and spread it thinner without losing the stone. I rather liked Pennyroal as it gave the weed a hint of menthol type smoke with overtones of chocolate peppermint. Please don't do experiments like this unless you know these herbs are not going to hurt you anymore than anything else you do.

Once we had a supply come into town of what we called brown papers. They were sticks made up by rolling weed tightly in brown paper and dried like extra long cigarillo sticks. Some of us just lit them and smoked them as is. The problem with that was that to disguise or to smuggle them they had either put perfume on the paper or had them in a container with perfume on the container.. as if you smoked them straight as they came, they tasted like kissing a floozy. They were great if you took them out of the brown paper. So there stands a reason to use flavoured papers like licquorice papers. I quite like licquorice papers but I prefer to make my fingers sticky with resin off the new buds and get the cigarette papers all sticky with it.. if I am smoking old stuff left over from last year.. freshens the flavour up somewhat.

Cheers dude,

I’ll give that ago seems to be a really good alternative. I kind of knew the smoother it is the more time the grower has put into filtering and flushing it during the last week.

It would be good to get my hands on the Sweet leaf though. A friend of mine suggested putting Pineapple juice + water in the brain and flushing it for 2 weeks. Does that really work? I kind of imagined it would be a bit rough and it’s still putting chemicals into it too.

Cheers dudes,

You guys always have an answer

Cheers

Marty
