How much do poeple get from a 600w HPS lamp....

Im trying to see if i'm doing good or not, maybe i can take a quick poll from some people to tell me how much they usually get from a 600w light. I just got 8.5 oz so i wanna see if i need to improve or not. So how much do u get from your 600w light!?? thanks

I have only ever used a 400w is a 2 door robe and my best harvest to date was 13 ounces from 2 plants but in most cases i get between 8-10, but have heard that if u have things dialed in rite u can pull a pound from a 400w...

 

With a 600w you should be able to pull a pound but in my case i have never used one so cant say, there plenty pf ppl on here that do and will be able to give u a better idea.

I think it depends on the strain as well some give less some give more.

"Some give less, some give more"....that's as true as it gets. But "they" say you ought to aim for around a gram per watt. That's in the sense of someone very familar with the strain growing, and know their system well. If the strain you use is giving less, you may find you can plant more plants than you are in the same area...but ultimately the "some give less, some give more" is a rule that can't be over-ridden.

 

Just choose the strain you like the best, and do the best you can...you can't grow more just by knowing it can be done, if you know what I mean. You only grow more through experience. In many areas. Experience with the sytem you use, used to the strain you grow, ....every crop ought to be better than the last is all you can expect from yourself mate.

 

Saying you should get "x" amount from a light that size could leave you feeling relly deflated and sad...only an unknown factor might be you grow straight haze or something. And in which case you'd be doing wildly well. On the other hand, someone might say you should get "x", and you get a swollen head almost, only for the secret unknwn factor being that you grow a strain that you could get double the weight.

 

If you get 8 oz or so. That's saving you about 2 and a half grand at total retail prices; if you went back to buying it all. It's only costing you a hundred or so to grow, so you sure can't be dis-appointed with that can ya.

The strain i did well off was celtic stone in my 1st DWC run, i have only did that once i think it was more luck than anything.

mate, 8.5oz is about right for most set ups, i have done 13oz off 1 plant under a 600w however it was a once off and i been chasing it ever since, best after that is a constant 10/11oz. how many plants was that off dude? also it does depend on what you are growing some plants just dont yeild very much but make up for quantity with quality...

Best i've done is 6pnd off four 600's.

 

The harvest before that i got less than 3 pnd. I think that was my worst. Learning heaps every crop. Run to waste i'm learning the bigger the pots the better. Use top shelf nutes. Don't keep ur globes for yrs. I like to change every 6months. Keep on top of room temperature. And even running ur nutes slightly high is detrimental to final yeild. At least that's been the case for me. At the end of the day i would be looking for improvements if i got less than a pnd per light. Having said that, the strain you are growing plays a big part. I have no idea what mine is but it's a thumper.

i had 10 plants going this time, and it was supposed to be a heavy yield strain. Reason im asking is because i did get 9.5 oz from a 400w light once, but in about 9-10 weeks of flower. This was about 7 weeks weeks of flower and got 8.5 under a 600w.

Perfect conditions you'd be hoping for 18 ounces off a 600, that seems to be about the benchmark, I think SS has grows here of around that each 600?

400's, a pound is what to aim for. Perpetual harvests are an idea to get more bang for your buck as more plants can be squeezed in at any one time.

Nothing wrong with half a pound, not every grow goes as planned as your probably aware
