Hi there!

Im new here and to growing and this is my first attempt, ive never seen anything like this in pictures etc not that id really know anyway?

I have no info as to what this is and are clones sourced from a friend of a friend and id like some idea if they are worth persisting with otherwise id rather aquire a knowen strain, preferably a reasonable quality big yielder.

What strains are good for quality smoke and large yields? - ive heard Great White shark and Big Stone are quality smoke and reasonable yields but am unsure if they are available locally?

What strains do the commercial guys use?

Heres the pic of my mysterybag clones, three leaves and a sativa stretch.

personally i would start over again with a new indica dominate strain because that clone looks like its an extremely sativa dominate strain and that could mean waiting 12+ weeks for it to finish

if you intend on keeping it going though your pH is off and you are not giving it enough nutrients by the looks of things. to fix that you will need to flush the medium with heaps of pH adjusted water and then give them a decent dose of nutrients made for your growing method. it looks like you are growing in coco so just make sure you are using coco specific nutrients otherwise your problems will never go away :peace:

Yep ive been underfeeding them a bit, last weeks dose was 800 ppm when it should of been 1000 just to be safe - but ill rectify that straight away and whack them up to full strength.

The tap water here is 8.5 to 9.1 ph and ive be adding a PH down formula to get the feed solution down to 6 - 5.8 which a bloke told me was the go for coco but again im not sure and im using the DM Gold nutes with the leaf spray.

hmmmm looks like an iron diff that i saw on another members plants awhile ago

if i was you i would stop the foliar feeding for now and flush ya medium with plain PH adjusted water and get onto full strength nutes asap that seedling is of a decent enough size to handle at least 1400ppm (now i aint grown in coco befor and dont know if 1400 is too high for coco or not) but 800 seems very low

but flush ya medium first to make sure and also just a tip next time ya take a pic to show us a problem have the lights off as it adds to the yellowness of plant i have seen perfectly healthy plants look waaayyyy yellow in a lights on pic

hope that helps

cheerz

Thanks for the advice, ill do just that although if they are sativas the thought of a 3 month flowering period gives me the shivers.

Any recommendations on a good strain with large yield thats not to easy to kill for a novice and reasonably available in Adelaide or Riverland?

From what I have seen it looks to be rather Sativa-ish. And unless you have a nice tall space to grow it, you could have height issues because they grow so bloody tall! :/

The 12 week flowering is also a bit of a put off too. I wouldn't mind trying a Sativa grow one day, I like the idea of the buzzy high as opposed to the body stone. :peace:

heres a link to the seed bank database, heaps of very usefull info.

for a first grow i could recommend skunk#1, very hardy easy to grow indica, good yeilds, and when grown to full maturity the stone is very couch locking and long.

Yep. I agree with Sunny. I spent quite some time browsing the Db and the seedbanks before I finally settled on my Belladonna.

I also think the Skunk #1 might be worth a shot from what I have read.

It is supposed to be great for beginners.

All the best.

throw the thing in the yard

trying to control that indoors will be a task imho

i gro win coco perlite.. and coco straight

1400ppm is the max feed of straight nutes id give a plant in flower

in vege from roots they get 200ppm

then slowely raise to about 900ppm

once in flower with the monstabud and nutes

i go as high as an ec of 3.2

sorry myy ppm knowledge stops at 1400ppm..

as thats like the most a plant can cope with realistically

anything above is a waste of nutes and will b urn

all th ebest

bil

id get me some new seeds mate

some indica dominant beast

it will bring flowewetime down and yields heavier
