Ausies Help Me. Im Thinking Of Moving To Australia To Grow

Recommended Posts

hey guys, im aching to move somwhere warm and nice relaly considering australia but i need to know a few things.

How much does a kilowatt of power cost in australia?

Are there any limitations on power consumption.. such as if i were to use 150+ kilowatts per day would that be a red flag?

How much does a pound of good stuff go for? is more expensive in one city as oppsed to another?

And what are the laws when it comes to possesion, trafiking and production?

Cheers

if the weed drought wasnt so terrible i probably would have said lets leave the commercial growing to the locals, but its almost like the police have busted that many commercial growers that the rest of them shit their pants and gave up growing as many plants >:( just do me a favour and move around newcastle or the hunter region lol

to answer your questions i have no idea how much electricity is, but i do know that a 400w light will add around $70 to the bill over 3 months and its about $90 for a 600w.

there are no real limits on power consumption PROVIDED YOU PAY FOR IT!!! you can get your meter box decked out hard so every room runs on seperate 90amp circuits and then have the house lit up so bright it could be seen from space if you didnt have a roof, but the second you start stealing power your days of freedom become limited...the power companies will not tolerate theives of even $1 worth of electricity a day and will hunt you down with a police escourt, but should you pay for your power they'll gladly sell you as much as you can use and will call you a great customer for it lol

the price of pounds varies depending on location and availability. at the moment a grower could easily offload bush buds for $2000-2500 and if they had indoor buds they could get $3000 for average gear no problems, but really good pot could go for as high as $4000 although to be fair not many people are willing to part with more than $3500...those prices are for the newcastle area but you'll find that even if pot is selling for cheaper rates in other parts of the nation its going for around the same price so instead of getting $3500 for a pound you might only get $3200.

the laws vary depending on which state you'll be in and they take into consideration things like making a mockery of the laws eg. having a 5 plant limit in nsw before you become a commercial grower so you grow a plant in each room with 5 lights over it so the 15ft wide canopy is still evenly lit lol infact 5 plants each taking up a room will probably get you in as much trouble as growing 50 plants and you'll make the papers hehehe either way growing pot, especially indoors will get you in heaps of trouble wether its 1 plant or 1000 that you are growing. pocession isnt a good thing to get done for either, especially in high amounts or even smaller lots like half an ounce when you also have scales or sachels on you as well...

think that about covers everything, but if you have any more questions dont hesitate to ask :D

haha awesome bud thanks for the info... so i guess cops have been cracking down recently??? if there are no power limitations how are they getting busted? do cops in OZ use infrared?

I would for sure and always pay for elctricity.. maybe set up a commercail place like a " welding shop" or something else fancy.

it seems to me 90$ for 600 watt is very high is that just for the bulb or the fans and everything else? i read an article that stated austrila hase relativly low power price 12-15 cents / kilowatt hour this deosnt add up????

Wow u guys are getting good prices for lbs i like it... i like it allott :>:(lol:D:D:D over here its so flooded right now good stuff is going for 1750/lb and our dollars is about close to par so u guys are doin well... do prices fluctuate during the year in OZ or is relativly stable through out the year?

So ur saying go big or stay home hahaha... would there be jail time for commerical gorwers even if they have a clean record? what about possesion would u go to jail if u had a half ounce or crimminally charged?

welcome to OZ Stoners Macgyver lol

yeah..about 15cents a kilowatt..so you can do the maths to work out what you will need...umm..150kilowatt haha!! I'd like to see that!!...never heard or read of anyone's illegal growroom using more than 40 kilowatt..anywhere in the world...hehe..

south australia and canberra have the least worst laws regarding cultivation and queensland has the worst....as for gaol time for someone with a clean record..i doubt it..though if you use 150kilowatt of power for your growroom i wouldn't be surprised!!..but I'm no lawyer..

..as for posession; in canberra if the amount is small you dont even have to go court..just pay it like a speeding fine pretty much..but usually with posession charges you will have to go to court...gaol time is highly, highly unlikely..a fine and or community service is the most likely outcome for posession..and the most like outcome for small scale cultivation also....unless its your tenth time being busted growing >:( ..and after nine times you would think most people would say..umm fuck it..time to quit.. lol

Hi Grok , thank u for the warm welcome.. ur name sounds familiar were you on advanced nutrients forums or on overgrow in the past?

Wow i was looking at some pics of Australia what a buetiful country u guys are relaly fortunate

The laws sound quite familair to the ones here... and yes i would be talking to a lawyer prior to starting andything.. infact every commercial gorower should havea lawyer prepared for the worst case scenerio... that way ur not scrabblling to find representation he already know whats up if cops come they deal directly with ur lawyer..

Im still confused about the power prices... does 15 cents / kilowatt hour sound right? how is wantdachronic paying 90 for 600watt??... maybe my info on 15 cent / kilowatt hour is outdated??? ohh i see you get billed every 3 months... but still that is very high......it cost me here $500 every 2 months to run 6 1k light set up and $1800 for 24 lights.... and we pay 67 cent / kilowatt hour.... so the costs of doing busineess and the selling price are already reasons to move >:(lol:D:D:D not to mention simialir laws and nice warm waether man im packing up and going!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think we may be confusing ourselves.... 1000 watt light runnign per hour = 1 kilowatt hour so 6 lights runing for 12 hours = 62 klowatt hours per day + fans, ac and all the other good stuff easily adds up to 90+ kilowat hours .. therfore a 150+ kilowatt hours per day would be 10-12 light set up ...... it would be nice to have 150 killwats per hour going hahah thats like a 120 light setup.... in time ( winkie winkie)
